I know most people use it on the fronts or even windshield, but I'm actually going to get it installed all around.
Got kind of sick of dark tint as that's all I ever had for many, many cars, so on my last car I decided to do something different and used this on my Lexus all around and I liked it. Almost every car out there today is tinted so I actually liked it simply because it was different because it didn't look tinted lol.
This stuff has a slight blue tint that gets more pronounced depending on what angle you're looking at the glass. At some angles, it's invisible, at others, you can see it really well. Blocks a lot of glare too, considering there's really no tint to it. Looks really classy imo.
I'll share some pictures after I get it done, but just curious if anyone has this stuff installed now.
I just had LLUMAR Air 80 put on my front windshield. I initially had some concerns as I read that there might be some issues if you use polarized sunglasses or a halo effect at night from oncoming headlights / traffic. Nonetheless, I took the plunge and had it installed anyway. I can honestly say that this is something I will now have installed on any vehicle I purchase. I am a very detailed person with borderline OCD. So any little thing that is an issue or out of place could irk me continuously. This was my worry with polarized sunglasses and daytime driving in L.A. However, after a full weekend of sunny driving with this installed, I can say that it is not an issue and does not cause any major distraction or distortion. There is a
tiny bit of a rainbow effect in the corners, but
very minimal (again, any little thing has the potential to bother me and this is not a problem).
I can tell a noticeable difference in heat rejection and temperature inside the car. Just as it states on the website and other reviews online, this is the main difference most people notice. The added benefit of 99.9% UV rejection is also a plus and saves your dash and interior from fade.
The tint is crystal clear, provides unobstructed viewing both in daytime and nighttime driving, and does not hinder your vision / sight lines / distance judgement / etc.
I would definitely give a thumbs up to anyone wondering if they should do this or not.
Additional info - also had my 50% FormulaOne Pinnacle tint taken off and 30% installed (same brand). The 50% I had on since 2009 when I first bought the car. Here in L.A., I wanted something that provided a bit more privacy (could see in pretty clear with the 50%) as well as a higher heat rejection. The 30% worked out perfectly. Clear enough at night where I have proper vision out of all windows, but dark enough during the day to provide privacy and a higher heat rejection. This, coupled with the Air 80 on the windshield works out perfectly for me and is exactly what I was going for (look and performance).
I'll try and get some pix loaded up today, but to most it would seem like they are just looking at a clear unmodified windshield (it looks that clear / almost OEM).
Okay, took a pic on the way home trying to get the view from the front windshield and out the side window that was down. The windshield appears a
bit darker in the picture than it is in reality. For me, very happy with this decision.
