    Online service for image uploads

    A very good evening!
I love Audizine and this has become my Facebook lately...no joke lol. And it breaks my heart to see so many good DIYs and pictures of forum member's cars are messed up due to photobucket screwing their image upload policy. Heck, even their own website is broken!!

I'd say we all stop using PhotoBucket for image uploads. Its a shame that a lot of DIYs are dead because their link to the pictures are broken!! Any member going back to refer any threads would get bummed with broken links to photos. So in my spare time, I tried using Dropbox, Box and Google Photos to share pictures on AZ - didn't help. They apparently don't allow third-party hosting - they're are for personal and limited use through discreet URLs.

Next in line was IMGUR. Tried using that (imgur.com) to share pictures and It Worked! Do remember that while sharing your photo to the AZ community, please use the BBCode while uploading/sharing in here. You may choose whatever image size you'd like but original looked like the best way to go.
The sharing pane on the right side of the image looks like this:

    Mobile users:
If you're using the Audizine Android or iOS app, you probably could upload pictures right away from the phone - so no problems with that. I wish a direct image upload could be done through the web browsers.

P.S. Took that picture when my car was 1 day old Cheers!

I completely support the premise of this thread. Even w/ that other thread about which image hosting to use.

Yep. That Photobucket thing is complete bullshit. They didn't give users any warning before deciding they want $300 per year for image hosting. I actually got an email from them about a week after they made the change.
It took me three days to reupload all the pictures on my build thread.
I used the tapatalk app, which is easy to use for uploading pictures from your phone. The issue was figuring out what pictures I had originally posted and where.
Now I'm going to upload a bunch of crap to my Photobucket account and max out the storage capacity of the free account just to take up more space on their servers. Bastards.

$300 a year? That's an obnoxious amount for image hosting! Mobile apps are fine and my guess is they directly store pics into AZ's CDN servers(?). As more people are increasingly using phones to upload pictures here, its only about time AZ servers run out of space. Someone needs to migrate the storage to AWS S3 soon

Yeah. It's a dumb idea on photobucket's part. They have a tiered pricing system based on the amount of storage you want. But only the largest, most expensive plan allows image hosting. I'd have been willing to pay a reasonable fee to keep image hosting on the smallest data storage plan. But $300 per year? Hell no.
As for the AZ storage, the amount of storage you get is based on your account level. And the tapatalk app asks you what size you want the picture to be when you upload it. And if the servers get filled up to the point where they need to charge, I'd be willing to pay a reasonable fee for that. Data storage is not expensive on the server side. Even the best 2TB hdd is only a couple hundred dollars. Since the photos being uploaded are small files (they are measured in kb) you can store a massive amount of photos on a single drive. Bandwidth and traffic are a different story, but that's still not expensive. Definitely not expensive enough for $300 per year. Maybe $30 a year for a basic account. And even then that's a massive profit margin.

I honesty can't believe people still use Photobucket anyway. That site is loaded with pop ups and junk ads. Imgur is better, but I just use tapatalk to upload my pictures.

I use Flickr, tons of storage space. I used to use photobucket for just crappy cell photos I would take and needed to post something real quick and used Flickr for my high res shots, but now I use Flickr for everything. The worst part about photobucket besides the ads is the fact they want to charge people for storage space. So now they have basically destroyed tons of DIY threads with step by step pictures on every forum across the internet because nobody is going to pay their outrageous fee.

I've been hosting my forum pics and some aviation photography on Flickr and it works fine... but they could easily pull a Photobucket and demand a ransom too. I'm in the process of moving all my stuff to a Wordpress site hosted on Godaddy. Costs 7.99 / mo. I own the domain name, and Wordpress is an industry standard, so if Godaddy ever gets stupid I can move it to a different host without impacting my site or links. I'm sure there are even cheaper options... I've heard good things about HostGator as well.

Imgur still works for me. I’d stay clear from Firefox/chrome extensions.

Why? I’ve been using imgur lately and that’s working well. It’s just annoying to look through older threads and not have photobucket pics work. Is there any new workaround?
