Reputable independent shop for PPI

Hello everyone,

I've been shopping around for a B8.5 S4, and I've found one that looks pretty great.

It's located at Audi Jacksonville, in Jacksonville, FL. I'm interested in getting a PPI on the car but I'm looking for recommendations on a local shop in the Jacksonville area that would do a meticulous PPI on the car, since it will be effectively bought sight unseen, and I'll be having it shipped up here to Portland, Oregon.

That's one nice low mileage S4! Unfortunately, I am not from Jacksonville, FL so I cannot recommend any good shops that will perform the PPI for you. You have a lot of guts buying a $34k+ car sight unseen. If the photos, documentation, and service history all looks great, I suggest flying down there to do a visual inspection and bring it to another Audi dealership or indy Audi mechanic and have it PPI'd before you seal the deal. The cost of a R-T ticket is a small thing compared to the cost of the car you are planning to buy.

I did a Google Search on Audi Mechanics in Jacksonville, FL and two companies came up on top along with Audi of Jacksonville. One is called Wagen Works which is within the same area as Audi Jacksonville. The Google Reviews on them a 4.7 out of 5 stars which is quite good. The other company is Technical Dimensions (http://technical-dimensions.com/). The reviews seem good, too. Too perfect actually, 5 out of 5 stars - 16 reviewers. Maybe their that good. It may be best to do more research on them. These guys are farther away from Audi Jacksonville.

Thanks for the reply, and for the Google searching - that admittedly I probably already should have done. I'll be making some calls to those shops on Monday, since they're already closed for the weekend now.

Stumbled on to this thread. Although I'm from CO, my son is a student in the Jacksonville area and drives one of my S4s. He uses Technical Dimensions for repair and maintenance of the car, and I think they've done a great job. I suspect they would do a meticulous PPI for you.

Sorry I just saw this.

You could just do the PPI don't at the dealership. Just make sure you request Michael Chapman their local Audi Master Tech to do the work. He's personally honest and takes good care of our club members. Then talk directly to him for the inspection results.

O'Steen VW has some good techs and are honest, ask for Garrett to do the inspection.

If you want pure independent, then I'd recommend Wagenwerks. Very small local Indy VW and Audi shop been in business for years. Shop isn't impressive to look at but they are really good. Talk to Jason the owner or Hunter, the mechanic that works on most club members cars.

TD is a long time Indy shop, they do a lot of high end stuff. I personally don't recommend them. Every quote I got with them was way overpriced and they never responded to my inquiries to work with our local Audi Club lol.

Eurospec is another local. I don't know for sure but I've heard negative things about them, so I have always stayed clear..

Unfortunately, we are pretty limited in good Indy shops.

My pick if you like independent would probably be Wagenwerks.
