    Question PCV Model

Hi, I recently noticed that the MMI in my 2011 A4 shows i'm low on oil, but I changed the oil 2000 miles ago. I heard that the PCV can cause oil to be burnt but i'm not sure when my PCV was replaced or if its the original version. Is this the latest version of the PCV or is there a newer model that might fix my oil consumption issues?

The old revisions of this part number will be any of the following. 06H-103-495-E, 06H103495E, 06H-103-495-A, 06H103495A

Thanks, so is mine version E? I wasn't too sure since the E didn't look like it was part of the model number.

It looks like it, but I'm sure someone with more knowledge then me will chime in soon.

I was looking at PCV models earlier on ECS... are they really VIN/year specific?

I think you should contact your local Audi dealer to be sure. There is part AC or part AE update. I think for pre 2013 models you don't want AE unless you have Audi updated software and piston rings.

I also have a 2011 a4 and just replaced my broken pcv valve. I had 06H103495J in my car.

I have also received the stage 1 & stage 2 oil consumption fix (ecu flash, pcv replacement, piston & rings)
You have an old part and there have been a lot of revisions on it. The one that I ordered was the 06H103495AE part but the supplier informed me that part just got updated to 06H103495AK.

I'm pretty sure that since you did not get your ecu reflashed your replacement part would be 06H103495AC. You should go to the dealer to check and see if an oil consumption test has been done on the car and do one

The flash update for the stage 1 fix was not to change any engine parameters, it was to allow the oil level sensor to check and record oil level more often. This way when you came in for stage 2 fix, the dealer could pull the info from the ecu to see the oil level monitoring. The crank seals where also done because people where reporting issues that they had oil consumption, but instead had the early revision of crank seals and would leak after the old style PCV valve failed. Just like the crank seals, the main seal can leak as well from a failed PCV valve.

The main reason for the software update was done to keep people from cheating the system to get new motors. There are no sensors with in the motor that will get thrown off from the pcv revisions, this is all bullcrap. Plain and simple run the newest revision PCV valve you can find.

    Thanks!!

I wish there was a thread on updates/revisions of parts for the Early B8 years. Every time I ask people refer me to B8 Buyers FYI thread but doesn't have info like this.

Lol I'm at 106k so I'm not going to the dealership. I'm still not sure if I should use AC or AH though, but i've heard they are basically the same thing. The AE model looks like its only for 2013+ cars.

Mine just went bad (06H 103 495 J) .. called Audi dealer and they said the new rev is AK (06H 103 495 AK) ordered one for £71.

ATM I have some shaking and high rpm on idle. The suction on the oil cap while running is crazy!
