We appreciate your sincere interest in the A5/S5 black optics package. As previously mentioned, there are currently no plans for the release of this package. I can’t speak to what may or may not be available in the future, but I will certainly pass along your enthusiasm!

But then again, that's not to say things wouldn't change down the road.

Considering the OEM Parts are about 10-20% higher if you purchase them directly from the dealership?

Yes really, you're taking advantage of the situation. Yes I know you guys gotta make money, but your whole kit is running $2,115 without install or the trim... If you go to Audi USA for the S4 black optic it costs $1,400 installed including trim and upgraded rims. Now take it the S5 is a bit bigger so lets say it'll be around $1,500 for black optic? You can't say with the straight face that your prices aren't outta whack.
Thats a $715 difference with out shipping and install...

So Audi charges $1500 additional price on top of the standard car. So you are already paying for the Standard grille.

With that being said - if you were to piece it out individually after the fact - thats what it costs. I urge you to call the audi dealership to find out what they charge for the individual replacement pieces.

But you're charging an additional $2,115 on top of the "standard" car? Same thing, one option is cheaper, buying it from Audi when you get your car. Plus you get the trim around the windows.

I have called Audi and spoken with them when I converted my A4 to black optics... and it still came out cheaper...

If I get A5 sportback now am I pretty much guaranteed that if black optics comes out say model year 2019 that I will be able to go to dealer and retrofit 2018? I just ask as concerned that they might make just enough tweaks to 2019 model that 2019 pieces wont fit 2018. thanks for any responses as this is holding me back from getting now

I think the parts would fit, I didn't have any trouble.

build it on audi, u pay an additional price, for only the standard set on the car, nothing additional.

with that said, its def smarter to order a car with it already. but there are some people who already have the car with no black optics and this is the only option. it may be expensive to u, but u don't have to buy it. plastidip it and call it a day ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I agree and i know it sucks but the way i look at it is the same way i look at ECodes, they dont come on our cars and if you would like them we have to pay that extra for them. Unfortunately B9s (so far) do not come with BO and we just have to decide if the look is worth the $$$

BO and ecodes are highly sought after parts. you can always get a return when u sell them back out. plus they are the little parts that make the BIGGEST difference.

BTW, I just added the total up to convert the front to black optics, its 1655, pretty fair, considering these are all OEM parts. my buddy actually just got a plate filler for his grille, and it was 160 from the dealer. tag charging 110. nothing unfair about their pricing at all imo

Thanks so much for the kind words! This is 110% the absolute truth. We are selling these parts for quite a bit less than any US dealer will be. We have our own direct line to Audi Germany, and are able to pass those savings down to you all! We are essentially cutting out two of the middle men.

When I ordered mine, they gave me the option for an S4 BO and it was the exact same price. It's not that its "expensive" but your def paying a + for them not having it out yet in the US. an unfair prem price iMO

I was waiting for it as well but then read somewhere that it might not fit. Perhaps folks from TAG can confirm via their contacts?

2) comparing to the b8.5 BO grille with a msrp of 750, prices goes up year by year its not out of the norm
