    245/35/19 on my stock wheels

I had a razor blade cut thru 1 of my oem contisport tires......
So I decided its time to upgrade, going with Michelin pilot sport 4s. I wanted to ask if anyone knows if I could fit 245/35R19 tires on my oem (19" x 8", 49mm Offset) wheels? if so are there any rubbing issues?

Based on a tire calculator you can but your speedo will be off by 1.1 km when doing 100km

The 2nd number of a tire size is an aspect ratio, which dictates sidewall height, and therefore total diameter. 35% of 245mm is more than 35% of 235mm.

Check out the specs. The 245/35-19 PS4S has only 1/10" wider tread than the 235. But the 235 is already 3/10" wider than the stock 235/35-19 Conti 5P. I'd stick with the 235/35-19 so you aren't changing he overall diameter but still getting a wider tire.

No issues. I run 245/35r19 pilot super sports for a year. No rubbing and will work with up to 20mm spacer in rear without rubbing.

Oh it doesn't? Look at the actual dimensions of each tire on their websites or Tirerack. A 245 does not actually equal 245 mm nor does 235 actually equal 235 mm. Tire manufacturers use these dimensions to roughly equate to the overall width of the tire from sidewall to sidewall. It's more of a "class" of tire than a true measurement. It also has little to do with the actual tread width. It just so happens that the PS4S 235/35-19 is much closer to the 245 in tread width than it is to a Conti 5P 235/35-19. Even more confusing; there are multiple versions of each tire size due to them being OE spec'd by differnent car manufacturers. There are three versions of the Conti 5P listed on Tirerack in 235/35-19 with tread widths varying between 8.2" and 8.6". The ZR rated 235 Conti 5P is actually about 1/4" wider (tread) than the 245 PS4S.

Not trying to hijack this thread but I think you'd just want to be aware of what size tires you're actually buying.

I just got the 245/35R19 Michelin P4S Installed, they look really good and they don't rub at all with my OEM wheels..... Car feels good.
I never really liked how thin the OEM wheel looked and how I could feel every little bump.

I would like to see some pictures of the Michelin 245x35x19 too. My S3 is going to be needing tires by the end of summer/early fall and I am thinking that Michelin is the best option. Thanks in advance.

+1. My OE Conti's are getting near done. Can't wait to put on decent tires. Would love to go 245 if they don't rub when pitched hard into corners ;)

PS: Anyone here ever have a sunroof frame replaced? Mine's been in the shop for a week getting this done. Was the result of a roof rattle.

+1 for pics of 245 PSS's. Was planning on doing that too on OEM wheels with 12/17.5 spacers.

I am overall satisfied with purchase as I now have road hazard warranty on the Michelin tires, my OEM continentals had no warranty.
purchased @ Sams club for $1107 OTD (costco didn't want to install bigger size tire but Sams club was ok with it)

    1) I am not running any spacers
    2) tires DO NOT rub anywhere
    3) Installed on my OEM wheels
    4) car feels better over the road, hard to break them loose on the freeway on ramp
    5) FYI Michelin P4S 245/35R19 tires are made in france, Michelin P4S 235/35R19 tires are made in USA

Any Gas mileage difference with the wider tire. Not that it matters to much just wondering.

Is your S3 on stock springs or lowered? I’m considering getting Michelin Pilot Sport 4 AS in 245/35/19 for my OEM 5 Spoke Wheels (19" x 8", 49mm Offset). My A3 has mild lowering springs. Will the 245 Michelin tires rub without spacers?

    245 35 19. For several years now....

I can tell you the different tire manufacturers make'm all slightly different. My Yokahama's are wider then the Nankangs I ran before. Even though both were 245-35-19.

Thanks Mik! I realized your aftermarket wheels with 35mm offset will clear the fenders. I was considering whether tires with a 49mm offset wheel would rub against the suspension components under load.

X2 I love the flush fit without wheel gap look! I've been considering going with245 michelin tires on stock wheels but I'm lowered 1.5in springs (I often carry 2 or more people in the car). Should I get 10mm spacers all round to prevent rubbing?
