    Hi all,

I owned lots of VW, nice cars also VCDS of course :) I have a BMW 335is cabrio can't drive it in winter and I found this amazing deal for 6500$CAD couldn't refuse on a 2010 A6 3.0 with 236K around 150miles. I am not the guy being afraid of the KM, those are highway and the guy was retired , real estate agent now has a new A7, he took care of the car a lot and it`s so clean inside out.
He mentioned that sometimes he will top up with oil due to the mileage is this engine usually burning some oil ? So what else should I look for in this car to go wrong, I would like to update the MMI with the latest firmware as well.

The engine on idle seems a lil rough to me, I am guessing a tune up wouldn't hurt with new plugs, coils, air filter, fuel filter should fix it. No check engine or anything it's clean, new breaks and almost new tires, I feel like driving a boat it`s very smooth comparing to a rough performance BMW :))

So what is Audi 2010 A6 generation issues usually ? , just to be aware :)

    Thank you,

Fuel pump is known to be made of weak plastic. There is an aluminum replacement out there if needed

Also the thermostat is known to go. If you don't have a warranty covering it, it could get quite costly as it's located behind the engine in a place where the supercharger needs to be removed to access it. Not expensive in parts but the labor can kill

Welcome to the group. Nice car and excellent color. The engine is known to burn oil but other than that (and the previously mentioned issues) it is relatively rock solid.

Tint, grill, and side marker delete are the pretty standard atheistic mods

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new to you car. Another thing to start considering based on the mileage is the harmonic balancer/lower pulley. OEM unit has a rubber dampener sandwiched in between and will fail at some point in time due to normal wear and tear.
What kind of service history did you get on the car?

check your engine mounts and snub mount if you feel a lot of vibrations in the cabin.

I got some service history, like regular oil change, front and rear complete breaks, anti-rust, some detailing fees and I believe some spark plugs and coils. The previous owner did take care of the car really well, no noise in the cabin, it drives to me very smooth like new despite the "high" KM.

Its so funny in Europe you see owners selling thier german cars with 300, 400K easily and it`s just a NA things when a car passes 150,200KM people believe it`s a junk. In Bucharest I saw so many cabs with cheap cars like Dacia and they clocked 450,000 KM no engine rebuild, so then I am asking myself what is wrong with a clean NA german car mostly on highway driving...

Talking about the masses, I get the feeling that, of the Europeans that actually drive, they take care of their cars better than Americans. I live in an apartment building with 10 units, and I'm the only one that properly starts my car. Everyone else starts it and doesn't even let the motor idle down before they are in gear and putting load on it.

Then, I'm sure that they are pushing the car harder than is prudent before fully warm. There's also a huge portion of Americans that would not ever consider buying a used car or even keeping their new car longer than 5 years. And I'm generally describing folks that should not be buying new cars based on their financial standing. But they buy them, beat on them, and then get a new shiny one with 'lower payments', but heavily leveraged 60+ month terms.

Just some small cosmetic mods while getting to Stage 0

Well, I didn't know this was a thing, but it makes sense. Feeling both grateful and a bit embarrassed
