Plasti dip will show rock chips after a couple weeks of driving, while vinyl wrap will hold up much better.

I bought a 5x1' sheet of matte black vinyl from Amazon for about $16. It was more than enough to cover the crash bar. It was my first time using vinyl and it was pretty easy. Use a hair dryer once applied to smooth out all the wrinkles.

Easy job. Don't paint or plasti-dip.

^^ wrong. normal rattle can paint will show rock chips, like the rustoleum or duplicolor stuff. plastidip will not if you do it properly. you arent supposed to just put enough coats to cover, you have to use the whole can. even though it'll be blacked out already, you have to almost finish off the can and do a couple more coats, do wet thick coats too, that way you will get it nice and thick and durable, it will not chip at all. normal enamel or similar paint does chip because it's hard, dip is flexible and will not show chips if done right.

although vinyl wrap would work fine too, just depends which you want to put on. but paint is a no, plastidip is fine. go with vinyl or plastidip, whichever is easier for you to get and work with.
