    Audi Symphony 2+ Bluetooth Audio

Back in a B7 after a few years away. Car I bought is an 07 S-Line with the Symphony 2+ w/ satellite radio. I would normally have just gone the Aux-in route, but I am curious if there are better options out there. Namely I am interested in hearing whether any products are out there that can offer just a simple bluetooth receiver that powers on with the radio and pairs to my phone. Aux-in works, yes... but I prefer the bluetooth streaming audio route.

So... is anyone aware of products/solutions out there? I stumbled on the website www.a2dp4audi.com but I am not sure if this is what I need. I've also seen a few hits on ebay but admittedly don't exactly trust those options.

    Check with enfigcarstereo.com

They offer a lot of good plug and play bluetooth options for our cars. Also Christian the owner of the company is a vw audi guy.

^^ Dension BT Lite (Simple bluetooth) or BT Pro (bluetooth plus USB and iPod/iPhone 30-pin) are what you want. Enfig sells the whole kit, easy-peasy. Best part is that they act very stock, and steering wheel controls are retained. Songs should show up on the DIS, IIRC.

I have the Dension GBL3AI2 (BT Lite) for the Symphony II+, got it off Enfig and install takes about an hour if you have the radio keys. The hardest part was routing the mic cable behind the glovebox (I made a custom official Audi power cable puller from a clothes hanger) and I shoved it into the A pillar headliner without taking the glovebox or headliner apart. Works beautifully, only thing it lacks is that it doesn't give you information of the songs you are streaming off your phone and doesn't pull caller info. There's a more expensive Dension unit that I think does that but didn't seem worth it for me.

I should have added I had the more expensive BT Pro, and I agree with what supple said--install is easy and the hardest part is the routing the mic to the correct location. In terms of stream audio (A2DP), you don't need the mic, and it works quite well. Yeah, the more expensive one would show contacts and numbers, and you had the option to scroll through the DIS to pick who you wanted to call. I think the audio track names were displayed, but it's been a year...

I also have a dension bluetooth/aux kit in my car, whatever the high end one was 2 years ago. I love it, it is one of the best things I ever purchased for the car. Bluetooth audio streaming and making phone calls work perfect, the aux input wire is nice to have since I can charge my iPhone from it. The steering wheel controls work perfect with both music stuff and bluetooth stuff and my cluster displays all my music as well as my phonebook. I have used factory equipped bluetooth in other B7's I have worked on and I really think the dension stuff is better than the oem solutions.

I used a "aux out kit" from a company called Blitz - I know they sold Bluetooth setups as well.

Holy cow that Dension Lite BT isn't cheap! Definitely wasn't anticipating that. But... that does look to be the perfect solution. Hmmm...

When I picked mine up last year, it was $140 for the unit, all the adapters, and mic. I spent a bit more to get some Posi-Taps (not necessary). The BT Pro is more and the Lite at under $200 is a tremendous amount less than OEM retrofit.

I have used GROM BT3 without any problem.
