My wife and I were going to drive our rs5 year round but after our salesman said you don't see many and now driving it a while I decided to write Audi USA and find out how many were produced. We decided to store it for the winter and buy a cheap winter vehicle.
Hope someone finds this useful too.

Our records reflect the sales numbers for models built for the U.S. market as follows:
    • 213 - Model Year 2015 Audi RS 5 Cabriolet 4.2 quattro S tronic models sold in the U.S.
    • 40 - Model Year 2015 Audi RS 5 Cabriolet 4.2 quattro S tronic models with a Daytona Gray pearl effect exterior sold in the U.S.
    • 24 - Model Year 2015 Audi RS 5 Cabriolet 4.2 quattro S tronic models with a Daytona Gray pearl effect exterior and Black interior sold in the U.S.
    • Your vehicle was the 14th out of 213 models produced

I also wanted to inform you I have placed a hard copy of your vehicle’s Certificate of Production in the mail today. For your reference, I have also attached a scanned copy as a PDF to this email

While I appreciate your desire to limit your driving time in the RS5 Cab, mine is "my" DD. Not sure of the production #'s for 2013's but I think I'll contact AOA to get exact #'s. U guys live much further north than us,( more exposure to harsher elements) but it is such a spectacular car, we now find ourselves "flipping" a coin to C who takes it for the DD to work. As I've said B 4, previous S4 & S5 Cab's held NO interest for my wife. The RS5 Cab however, she can't get enough of. Nothing beats top down driving!

And that's why you should never, ever let your wife drive your car. ;)

Too late to try to put that toothpaste back in the tube, the "secret fun" one can have driving such a car. NEVER thought she'd get bit by the HPAD (High Performance Audi Driving)"bug". As U know, in medicine we have a few absolutes & try to stay away from the MONA (Most,Only,Never,Always)acronym, C what I get for not following a good work rule @ home.😲

Just got off the phone with Audi of America & for 2014 there were 464 RS 5 Cabriolets sold in the US. Didn't give me any specifics on breakdown for color, equipment, options as their appear to be far more then there were in 2013. For 2013 they were only 92 RS5 Cabriolets sold, 24 with the Panther Black Pearl paint, and of the 24, 21 had the black leather interior like mine.

I just picked up my 2014 Cab with Black Optics yesterday and previously sent and received the answer for 2014 RS5 in Canada:

Thank you for contacting Audi Talk.

While we are unable to provide this information for North America, we can provide this information for the Canadian market. There were 209 Audi RS5’s and 70 Audi RS5 cabriolets sold in Canada with a 2014 model year.

For information on these numbers for the United States, we would suggest contacting Audi of America. If you wish to them, you may contact Customer Relations by calling (800) 822-2834 and request to speak with Audi of America, or contact them directly by email at [email protected].

Thank you for taking the time to write.

    Sincerely,

    Lumattie Chinebas
