Wheel purchase advise/recommendation - RTX or Fast Wheels

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hello every one,

Looking into getting a new set of tires and rims, and based on my budget narrowed down to these two,

    Fast Wheels FC04 - http://www.1010tires.com/Wheels/Fast...ehicleid=94425
    RTX Envy - http://www.rtxwheels.com/en/wheels/r...matte-gunmetal

I am leaning towards the RTX Envy but I am not able to find any reviews or information about the manufacturing of this rim. The FC04s are apparently flow forged as per the tire shop.

So was wondering if I could get some feedback from any one about these rims or from any one who have these rims ?

    Thanks

I have a set of AG M580 19x9.5 ET 40 for sale. Works for B8.

I would double check to confirm that the FC04 are forged. For $240 per wheel, that seems like cast wheel prices to me.

*Edit* It says right on their website that the wheel is cast.

I use RTX's Ingolstadt (B7 RS4 knockoff) for my winter set up. They've held up to my careless parking well enough, but I did have to replace one that developed a crack after 3 (4?) winters. RTX web site says that some of their R-Spec line is made with Flow Form. The other lines (including your Envy, and mine) are cast. http://www.rtxwheels.com/en/blog-rtx...heels-b19.html

I believe mattys4 has the FC04 wheels. He's been running it for a while with no issues I think

TSW is a well know brand that offers styles similiar to what you are looking at, both flow forged.

The FC04's looks pretty good. I am probably going to with these as the RTX only comes in a dark gun metal grey but the FC04s can be had in a titaniu finish which would go better with my meteor grey.

lightweight cast wheels on a heavy powerful car isn't that great of a combo IMO. I'd want at least flow formed.

the TSW should only be about $250 more at most if you get free shipping on amazon, and pay $100 in shipping for the Fast Wheels
