Help - VCDS Fault Code: 00716 Air Recirculation Flap Positioning Motor (V113)

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Upon recently scanning my car, a code for the HVAC came up: 00716 Air Recirculation Flap Positioning Motor (V113). I have searched around and have not been able to find much information on this. Looking for help identifying the faulty part and its location. Wondering if it can be accessed by removing the glovebox or if the whole dash needs to be removed.

Any info would be helpful. Thanks!

You can always try clearing the fault codes and see if it throws the same code again. If so you might actually have a faulty motor

Many thanks for the info. I did clear the codes and they immediately came back.

Any chance you could tell me / have a diagram of the specific location of the motor?

I believe its under the glove box....not very easy to access. Might be a job for the mothership (dealer)

No warranty and being Stage II means I will actively avoid a trip to the dealer, if at all possible. There are a couple of local Audi repair shops I know, will probably pay them a visit. It sucks that this is more of an electronic B.S. problem than a more straightforward mechanical one.

I haven't noticed a problem with the HVAC system, I only found out about it by scanning the car.

Think it has to do with the "Recycle Air" feature....there is a motor that opens and closes the air intake so if it goes bad it can get stuck open or closed etc. Also if your outside your warranty there inst really a reason to worry about getting flagged.

At the advice of an old Audi tech friend, I went by my local shop and they plugged the car into their Ross Tech VCDS (I really need to get one of those). They ran a sweep / test mode / recalibration of the HVAC system. It seems to have worked to clear the code and keep it from coming back.
