leather stitched center cover speedo hood and airbag

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
i recall the launch edition mk3 featured an extended leather package that included a leather stitched speedo hood and airbag cover which finishes the interior nicely.

the TTRS at the NY auto show with the design selection interior (red seatbelts, vent accents, leather door handles, pulls, etc) however did not feature a leather airbag cover.

is this extended leather trim still an option for 2018?

luckily, the center cover is a easy retrofit with stitching in various colors:

As far as I know, only the door arm rests, pulls and center console receive the extended leather.

That means the center cover (above virtual cockpit) and airbag cover do not have extended leather... but I could be wrong.

I have been considering an instrument cluster hood upgrade for some time. -GMQ in my case.

I wonder how crazy the install is, and if this is a DIY or something we may need a dealer for? Thoughts? I absolutely want this....

What about the other leather bits from the interior design package? I didn't want the red vents/stitching/etc (ara blue car), but did want the leather, so retrofitting looks like a great option. Thank you for the excellent service-manual style pictures. Grabbing them from that online subscription site re: Audi? Wish I could just buy a factory service manual.

    Leather Trim Airbag 8S0880201G1KT

Airbag with leather trim ends with 1KT (6PS is the regular one w/o leather).

With the Takata airbag debacle, I would not recommend sourcing these outside of Audi, as they may be the recalled ones. Too bad they don't just sell the leather cover.

Same question - but GMQ, I believe, instead. The black/grey should match the EI (non-red-stitching) interior, correct?

you are searching the wrong part number. the third digit is a number, not a letter. "0" as in zero.
