So on Saturday we installed the 034 Motorsport Lowering Spring kit on the B9 A4. According to 034 it should have dropped the car an extra 1.1 inch but with my unscientific measuring technique I did not get that 1.1 inch drop... Perhaps the new suspension must settle in more to see the final result... I'm schedule to get an alignment in two weeks (needed because we had to drop the rear sub frame). On May 15th I will track the car and will be able to give you my report on how the car handles with this new setup. However I can tell you on our very rough roads up here in the Montreal area the ride is stiffer no doubt but still within my comfort zone for a road car. I did notice immediately under hard acceleration while coming out of a corner that the car will not squat down on its rear suspension (allowing the front end to lift) like it did with the OE suspension and man did it track out of that corner like on rails with no understeer. Should be interesting on the track!
I wish I would have had more time to take better pictures because these ones don't really do justice to the drop because of lighting. However the close up of the front and rear suspension taken with the flash show a better view of the drop because you can see inside the wheel well. It's fair to say that at this point that there is at least a half inch drop.
The initial drop seems to have settle around 3/4 of an inch... Perhaps there is another 1/4 inch to come.
