Hey guys,
It's my first post here. Greetings from Eastern Europe!
I have a nice Audi A8 4.2i 2003 and about 2-3 days ago I bought Set Top Box (digital tv tuner) from a local guy with the same car. I was in search for this kind of gadget for long time and I got it with a lot of desire.
I installed it to my OEM analogue TV but unfortunately nothing happens - it doesn't work yet. The device number is 4F0 919 142 and I hardly find any information over the internet.
The previous owner claims that the device was managed directly from his MMI on a TV channel (not AV1 or AV2) and did not have to use the remote at all, which I guess is not possible, regarding the fact that wiring is only for antennas and video / audio signals. Somewhere on this forum I noticed a post where it was called "digital to analogue converter", so I am asking myself is that a device which just get the signal from the antennas and convert it to analogue signal, then send it to the analogue tuner as a cheat?
The remote control (4F0 035 207) looks like brand new but it does not have an IR nowhere on it's body and I am absolutely shocked how it works?!
So, I followed the scheme of the pins from this topic: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a8-...2-mmi-2834685/
First I tried to pin it on PIN 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 (is this Hybrid-Tuner? Or not ?!) unsuccessfully, and then I plugged it to AV2 pins when the message appeared in German for no signal on a blue screen. I clicked on all the buttons on the remote with brand new batteries but again - nothing happens. The wiring of the antennas seems cannot go wrong and everything is plugged in place, the antenna bushes detach and the signal deviates from the analog tuner through the digital and from there back to the analogue. Any encoding through VCDS needed?
Any idea how to make the things happen? Any documentations, videos, DIY guides? Thank you guys in advance!
