Yes; I follow the EBC bedding in procedure and it takes about 1000 miles to fully seat, for me not a big deal, but something to be aware of before you buy them. I'm sure some have put them on, drive about a week and conclude they are no good, which is actually not the case, it just takes some time and miles. You will slowly feel the gripping power increase as they seat. Then you do the bedding in procedure to cook them.
Also, just some info on brake pads in general, not just EBC...when the pads are new they are soft, and you are seating them, which is wearing the pad to match the rotor. Once seated, you do the 6 or so hard stops 60 to 5 MPH to deliberately heat them up good, this cures the resins in the pad, causing the pad to harden, and this provides long life and low dust to the pad. You might have to do this more than once on different days. With the EBC Reds, the dust stops once the pads are cured, which is how you will know they have been bedded in sufficiently. Once you understand all this the "procedure" makes more since.
