Cabin air filter for B8.5

Can anyone confirm where the cabin air filter is located on a B8.5? Mine is a 2013, to be particular. Reading conflicting threads (some saying under glove box, some under hood).

My 2014 is under the glove box area near the passenger foot-well area. You'll need to do the limbo to get under there and see the thumb tabs to expose it but replacing it is a snap. I found a 3 pack of filters online for like $30. I changed mine at 20k and will likely do so a little sooner next time.

you should be able to find you tube vide0 it is under glove box

Can confirm that it's under the glove box. You'll see a slim plastic rectangular slider tab that holds it in.


Also, easy advice: Spend a couple extra bucks and make sure you order the Activated Carbon/Charcoal filter.

[Air filter] = usually refers to engine air filter, part of the intake under the hood.
[Cabin air filter] = air filter for ac system for interior, found under glove box.

This 100%. Definitely makes a difference, especially around smelly areas.

My 2011 usually smells like leather conditioner but occasionally it smelled stale, just replaced the filter, I would swear the old one was %50 heavier and really nasty. Thanks, I just got my S4 back the way it should be!
