Welcome to the allroad brethren! Glad to see you found one with the sport package. Those are tough to come by in an already tough to find car. I look forward to the build.

Haven't take nice pics yet, but here's one from the dealership (haha you can see the dash cover, previous owner was an old lady that had the seats, steering wheel, and dash all covered):

I'll have more pictures once I get more mods in :D

Congrats! That's a great looking mug indeed. Is it me or are the prices of these getting much lower? I haven't kept track of my depreciation. Never saw those color seats before!

I think I got a killer deal on mine, it was basically listed at a dealership for KBB private seller value, the manager told me they screwed up on pricing but since I inquired they would let me have it for the initial listing price (who knows, might've been a tactic, but it worked :P). I think the lighting makes the seats look almost beige but it's more of a cold gray.

First "mod": weathertech floor and cargo mats. Fits like a glove! Pricey but worth it imo.

How does the adaptive cruise control work? Does it have front parking sensors?

It's pretty awesome, works just like regular cruise control but slows down if the person in front of you slows down, all the way down to around 15mph, if its slower than that, it'll beep and give you control again. If cars speed up, it'll catch up, up to the speed you've set. You can also set the distance you want to follow, it's pretty generous in the amount of space it gives, so I always set it to minimum distance.

There's a sensor to the right of the driver side fog, when I was shopping for the car, that's how I was able to identify it. Either by looking at the Cruise Control lever (to see if it had the distance setting), or by looking at the fog light housing (to see if it had the circular sensor).

    The sensor:

Latest mod: Thule Aeroblade Edge in black. Was able to hack it slightly to make sunroof fully operational! I am noticing some whistling though which is a bummer, anyone have tips for reducing noise?

    Reduce noise.... .take them off!!
Just kidding, I have the same bars. You get used to it. Make sure they're facing the correct direction. You should read the Thule logo if your facing the hood.

Finally picked up a box! Thule Force XL. Was originally looking for Atlantis so I can get it painted but decided to save the money for future mods. I’m liking the matte look more than I thought I would.

Thanks! Looking into strut and sway bars to get rid of the awful body roll.

    Any tips or suggestions?

Sway bars mine came with the Hotchkis 22836r & 22836f. Also many people seem to run these on there allroads.

The other option is H&R. I believe these are the part #'s for them but I would double check.
    Front Sway Bar - 30mm
    Part #70061-2

    Rear Sway Bar - 24mm
    Part #71061-2

If you are talking front strut bars -

    Canyon Run CR-15 $129.00 https://www.facebook.com/CanyonRunCR15/

I have the UR one but my car came with it so I can't compare before/after.

Found some S5 rotors for $900 from local craigslist ad. Here they are with 255/35/19 stock tires at stock height. Plan on getting fatter tires 255/40/19 and coil overs in the next month or two.

Nice find. If you're going to go lower, I'd stick with the 255/35 size.

    Hey Plim,

Can you tell us more about your hack? I was thinking you could just put something like a cutout from a mouse pad to slightly elevate the bar mount without rubbing... Something like that?

    Thanks!

I've been struggling with this for a while now. At first I used something to raise it, some spare rubber from another project, about a quarter inch should do. This worked but when I was installing my box, I also figure out that if you push the bars as far forward as possible, it should also clear the moonroof because the rails are actually farther apart towards the front of the car. Because of this new position though, the bars are angled slightly down, so I think this is why I'm getting whistling noise if I don't have my box on, BUT with my box on, I can't open my windows anyway... sigh.. can't have everything. I love the way my box looks on the car so ill likely just leave the box on permanently now, but if I ever take it off I'll probably go back to raising it so I don't have to deal with the wind noise. Hope this helps.

I used a combo of rail placement and the below rubber filler pieces to allow clearance on my old Sportwagen with whisp bars. Worked well for me.

Time to get a car wash and go shoot some pictures. In the meantime, here's a preview:

Haha, yea, definitely too low for me as well, but had to post both extremes. I'll post ride height pictures once I get her cleaned up :D

Vinyl work will be blacking out all the mentioned parts.

No, not a fan of the blacked out logo look. I'm considering blacking out the vertical bars on the grill though. Still undecided, need to do some photoshopping before final decisions. Gonna be later this year though, not very high on my list of priorities.

Looks good! Curious about the ride quality on normal run around mode. I'm leaning more and more towards bags as opposed to C/O's for the on demand adjustment. Have air stock on the Q but don't really need it there. lol

Aww, it's so fun to go full Comfort and "skyjacker" mode when the snow flies! Last December and January were very entertaining in my Touareg (like running around on stilts!).

subb'd. Nice job with the white on black. I have a glacier white, not too sure the difference. Maybe it's "cooler" in the color range (meaning cool vs. warm, so more blue tone). Jealous of your sport package. Also - I just noticed... the sport package is only a $500 upper when bought from factory?!

You're headed toward where I am moving toward with mine. Going air this spring with wheels. I love the look of rotors but I have plans for other wheels for the summer and can't justify tossing the stock wheels/tires for a winter set just yet.

How does it ride with the air? Any reduction in body roll due to the better planting and stiffer "springs" on the system? I'm really trying to avoid over-modding this (aka going full F/R sways, control arms, and a strut brace on top of the air ride) since I went a little crazy with my Subaru, so I'm trying to do the minimum to make the car "feel" right with not a ton of body roll. I see you've got a strut brace already and I've heard that it has decent bang for the buck.

Did you have to upgrade your control arms when you went air? Alignment was able to be achieved without needing the adjustable front control arms?
