Upgraded In Tank LPFP Fuel Pump Options

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Is anyone here aware of a bonifed fuel pump upgrade route with the B7? (2.7t Stage 3 swap project)

I have a B6 2005.5 that uses the B7 fuel pump setup & I'm puzzled as to how to upgrade the fuel pump... seems the options are limited

If you're swapping to a 2.7, you need a return style system if I'm not mistaken. That makes your options pretty open.

If it has a 2.7T and is already running a B7 LPFP, i guess it isn't return ?? Im no expert at all.

If above is the case, the DW300c fits into the stock basket.

I linked the wrong one, this is the B7 A4 one:

    https://jhmotorsports.com/shop/catal...s4-p-3593.html

The pump by itself isn't going to get you what you need.

You can't buy this filter anywhere but through us or a dealer of ours. That filter is needed for the S4 guys and the guys who do 2.7 swaps in an S4

Is that chart showing pressure vs RPM (axis labels would be good)?

I currently have a Bosch 040 sitting here... I'd hate to have it go to waste, but I honestly didn't expect to be dealing with a B7 style FP On a B6. I'm still considering modifying the Stock basket to adapt to the larger 040. I know guys have done it with the Areo 340. That little filter could be an issue though...as well as the 2nd line running to the Driver Side Tank...theres no port for that on any of the aftermarket pumps that I can see...

Jake@JHM does you're setup provide for that second line to siphon gas from Driver Side Tank at low levels?

Yeah...but i got a Heavy Ultrasport B6 with all the fancy trimmings...after The swap I'd probably be tipping The scales at 3750-3800lbs... An equally equipped B5 would pull on me simply because of weight...i woulndt expect the same numbers on the track.

Precisely...as for you're B7 pump setup...i will leave it as a plan B. I didn't budget an additional $350 or so. As I already have a Bosch 040 here thinking I had a standard B6 fuel setup... I'm going to be brave and modify my B7 basket to accommodate the 040 and retain my level sensor etc...just need to figure out the Sock filter situation...they do sell a Sock filter for the 044 so I'm hoping that fits the 040 as well... if not, it does have a mesh basket attachment I could play with...

Either way if it all goes south, I can still pony up and purchase your solution and call it a day... just don't want to give up on my 040 just yet.

I am concerned that I'd no longer be able to drive comfortably past say 1/2 tank... there's no way to guarantee fuel siphon from driver tank to passenger tank when using 040 or other aftermarket pumps ... so I'd end up with inaccurate low fuel readings that could leave me on the side of the road if not careful...

Tee off the discharge of the pump. That is what the stock pump does. The thing you think is a siphon line is a supply to a pump that moves the gas over. Supply it with pressurized fuel and you should be good.

Wow...ok...I always thought gas was moving from Drivers Side tank to Passenger tank where the fuel pump is mounted...but you're right that little line is pressured not Vac...

...you're saying the Fuel Pump pushes a small amount of fuel from Pass side tanks to SJ Pump on the Drivers side and then drains back to Passenger side until Driver side tank is empty...? Then feed is solely from the Passenger side tank...then out of gas completely...

    (Hope is worded that right...)

Not sure about that... this is my Driver Side Tank & SJP...there are only 2 lines...corrugated Orange & Black. The smaller Orange line runs directly to an output on the OEM Fuel Pump on The Passenger side...The other Larger Black Line (removed in this pic) runs to the Passenger Pump Basket and just dumps there...there are no other lines connected that I can see on the Passenger side Tank...

The port for the Fuel return is Attached to the Passenger Tank Cap and Dumps
