2017 Q7 MPG better or worst than expected?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey guys, I'm really looking to drop my 14 SQ5 and pick up a 17 Q7. How is the MPG for the 3.0T? Is it as good as the 19/25, or worst?

    Thanks.

So far after 1,200 miles I've found it's worse around town but better on the highway. I'm not thrilled but I'm also coming from a TDI so not a fair comparison. Got spoiled with that one not having to fill the tank very often.

I was only getting about 13 on the highway.

Of course, I was towing an R8 @ 80 on a heavy steel trailer.

It had plenty of power, so I'm somewhat impressed by it.

Lots of stop and go brings the mpg down to 16.7mpg? That is pretty bad for something that is rated 19 city.

Yup, my experience exactly. I'm not impressed with the MPG at all...

I for one is very pleased

this is the best i have got so far

That was on the way home from work from Seattle to Fife using I-5. If i recall traffic was flowing well

I normally been geting ~22 to 24 mpg on the way to work on I-5 in the morning and that with traffic

This morning I took 99(streets) to avoid heavy traffic on I-5 and I got almost 21 mpg and I caught a decent amount of redlights.

I do use the acc alot, drive around 70 and use the stop/start system. Driving in dynamic will pretty much lower your mileage, but you dont drive dynamic to save gas lol.

dasaint, nice MPG... I guess MPG isn't going to be as bad as I thought on the '17 Q7.

For me its great especially compared to the ladies 12 Mdx which is a struggle to achieve 18 mpg going the same route. My 3000lbd cobalt ss 4 banger gets 25 on the same stretch when I behave and use cruise control.

I bought my Q in california and I got 24 mpg from Cali to washgington state and thats with engine break in.

here is another thread in a other forum.

People have been getting different results with mpg you will notice. Its really dependent on a number of factors as may of already know( gas, geography, driving style, etc).
I will not say my results is what everyone should get, but it is the mpg that has been had on this 3.0T.

Im surprise to hear low mpg. Im actually impressed and very pleased with the mpg im getting. I have gone on two road trips of 700 miles with 6 people plus luggages and have gotten 26 to 28 mpg. Around my daily routes i get 20 to 22 mpg which is about 60 highway to 40 street

2017 Q7 MPG better or worst than expected?

My Q7 gets just about the same mpgs as my '12 A6 3.0T. Talk about jealous of the wife's DD!

We too came from a Q7 TDI to the 3 liter SC. I miss the ridiculous mileage range on the highway, but it's more or less the same mpgs around town.
