Where's my parking sensor, why doesn't it work?

My friend has an Audi A4 B8 saloon (2008) - RHD

It looks like it has parking sensors (unless they're blanks) but

    1. They don't work
    2. We don't get a long beep (or any beep) when we turn the ignition on
    3. No errors
    4. VCDS doesn't show any issues, but also if you click channel 76 (parking aid) it doesn't communicate
    5. When in reverse no sensors 'click'

It's as if it's not there , but we can see the sensors in the bumper.

We can't locate the fuse (front or rear) or appropriate fuse diagram and unsure if the fuse been pulled out

    Any ideas?

    Thx

Simple, his bumper was probably repainted... And they painted the sensors.

If VCDS does not pick up the module then Most likely the bumper was replaced with one with sensors and the vehicle does not have the system

It's all fun and games until you hear the German engineer say "spank me harder than a bottomed out suspension daddy"

Does the car have a back up camera? If it doesn't have a camera then it prob doesn't have sensors. If you can't communicate with the parking aid module and no other modules have codes for no communication with parking aid module then that's also a very very good indication the bumper was replaced

The module sits to the right in the trunk, behind the cover. The cable to the sensors will go straight back under the taillight.

    Thanks guys
    No reversing camera...

But then again my b7 has no camera but has sensors

Maybe other modules do have codes, but I wouldn't know.

I was thinking no fuse just completely disconnected it, hence no vcds link

I'll have to look at sensors and see if they're there I guess

    Thx
