    mine came as a charcoal impregnated unit (hence the dark color when the filter is actually pretty clean) and i'm assuming the "L" on the box is for LHD.

    looking around now, the official audi version seems to be going for $85 on ecstuning for a plain paper version.
    back then, i ordered the filter from davidB8 on the a4 B8 forums for much less.
