Wheel wax/protectant that works on wheels against brakedust buildup?

Since the Audi produces more brake-dust than my other cars, just wondering if there is a wheel wax or protectant that keeps protecting the wheels for more than 2 weeks?

I just applied 2 coats of Dr Beasley's so after I do my summer changeover I'll let you know. Being a milky liquid you spray on and wipe off I'm not too optimistic...we'll see.

Easiest would be (based on my experience) the Sonax Wheel Rim Shield. Spray on after thorough/proper wheel cleaning & drying, spray on, let it sit, (follow Manuf. suggested dry time is ~ 1hr.) Lasts ~ 4-6 weeks depending on driving/environmental conditions, but YMMV. Longer lasting by far, (again based on my exp.) is a wheel coating like Gyeon Wheel Coating Q2. Super stuff & designed specifically for higher temps generated by braking systems. I have dedicated summer/winters on my RS5, so much easier to apply but fabulous results. Cleaning is much easier & comes cleaner faster & w/ much less effort. Usually only brush The wheel every other time. The wife's Q7 gets the Sonax stuff, brush every time, works well but nothing like the Gyeon. Hope this helps

A true wheel coating will help you tremendously. Have the wheels removed, deep cleaned, polished if necessary and then coated. It will last much longer, the true wheel coatings are designed for high temps, and they will be much easier to clean.

I coated my brand-new summer wheels prior to installing them. They were factory fresh and had never seen anything other than the inside of the box. When my factory "peelers " Came off I had those professionally stripped, repainted and then coated them as well. All of this was done off of the vehicle, which makes things incredibly easy. The only two true "wheel coatings" I know of at this point are the one I mentioned by Gyeon & (IIRC) 1 by Adams. I believe you can order either through the sponsor of this website, "Detailers Domain" from which I have bought almost every car cleaning product I have. 1st rate sponsor/resource/products, can't go wrong, won't steer U wrong. DIY is definitely possible, not difficult if "new" wheels, that's what I did. Several UTube videos w/good info/details if not familiar w/process.

Modesta BC-06, BC-09, both are specifically engineered to be applied to wheels. I am sure that Gyeon and the like also have something that you can put on the wheels.

I am doing an experiment with this and will update with what I find.
2 wheels only have a coat of Chemical Guys wheel guard, the other 2 have a coat of the wheel guard and a coat of Sonax PNS on them.

The wheels were prepped before I put on the wax/sonax.

So the Sonax definitely outperformed the Chemical Guys wheel guard. It's hard to say if there was a difference in shine between the two but as far as ease of cleaning and water beading, the Sonax was the clear winner.

Now it will ~ the duration/length of time B 4 U re-coat the wheels. Did U use the Sonax "PNS" or the Sonax "Wheel Rim Shield"?

Carbon Collective Platinum wheel sealant. I just put it on some wheels and waiting to see, but I have a bunch of friends running it and they love it. It lasts close to 2 years and it not bad to apply at all. Use CHRISLANE10 at checkout and I think you will get a 10% discount.

I ceramic coat my wheels. I’ve used Opti-coat gloss on my summer and winter M5 wheels (powder coated) and recently used Cquartz UK on my Audi wheels that had been neglected for some time. The Audi wheels needed a very deep clean with Meg’s Wheel Brightener (acid) and Iron-X a few times with lots of scrubbing and rinsing. BMW pads are as bad as Audi pads and on all of my wheels, they wipe right off now. I usually just use regular car shampoo to wash them, no wheel cleaner needed. Now that the pollen is starting to come on strong, I’ll probably just do foam baths and pressure washer rinse for maintenance washes for a few weeks.

I use McKees spray wheel sealant. It protects my rims from dust and dirt.

I have pretty good luck cleaning the wheels, and then just spraying detailing spray over the top and not wiping it off. This also works with quick spray wax, but you have to wipe it off.
