    B7 A4 Hardtop vs. Convertible

Hi all - I've done a ton of searching (before I get ripped for not using the search function) and I can't find any thread that specifically calls out the differences between the convertible and the standard model of the A4 B7.

Besides the obvious, some things I've noticed is the trunk not having the "cubby" for a subwoofer (although I'm still skeptical a 10" won't fit on the passenger side cubby), the tail lights are different, 2 doors vs 4, etc.

Do most/all performance parts mostly fit without issue on the cabriolet that are for the standard model? For example, CAI, Downpipes, HFC, Catback exhaust, etc? I imagine maybe the tranny makes a difference for exhaust based on the size differences, but that's just a guess. I presume everything under the hood is identical with perhaps some extra electrical for the convertible top? Thanks guys!

If you're concerned with performance, then the weight difference of the two cars is important. The cabriolet is (IIR) about 400 pounds heavier than the sedan. Add to that some likely frame stiffness losses in going to the cab. I believe the exhausts are different, not from a performance / sound perspective, but not interchangeable. Otherwise I think the engines are pretty much the same.
    B6 S4 Cabriolet
Milltek exhaust w/ SW tips, H9 fogs (DRL), denison Ipod adapter.
Debadged except the rings, TWM Leopard shift knob.
TD Pro Race 1.2 Wheels, Continental Extreme Contact DWS.

U R correct, exhausts R not interchangeable d/t structural requirements for "body rigidity/stiffness" r/t NO roof connecting A/B/C pillars. As a result the exhausts on the Cab are just different enough (twist/turns/bends,etc) that aftermarket exhausts have to be made specifically for a Cab? The additional "stiffening " has to take place on the underside of the car, again causing the unique Cab only exhausts, & accounts for a good portion of the additional weight, IIRC 400 lbs. more weight for the Cab is on the $. Any additional weight impacts overall performance/MPG but nothing beats Top Down driving on a beautiful sunny day. Just MHO, & yes I am & have confirmation bias.

Thanks for the notes guys! Everywhere I look says the HFC is the same for both cars so I'll assume that is accurate - are we saying that just the catback is different from cab to sedan? or that the downipes are also different between models?
