Hey guys I'm getting the following done on my 2012 A7 with stock sports suspension this week:

    H&R Springs
20x10.5 HRE FF01 Liquid Silver wheels - square setup
    275/35/20 Michelin Pilot 4 S Tires

My questions are should i be replacing my stock sport shocks (2012 A7 with 39K miles) when i do the springs and will I have any rubbing or fitment issues with the H&R springs and wheel/tire combo?

    Thanks for your feedback!

Yep. Get some Bilsteins. The stock shocks will not last long with the springs. When they go out, you'll be paying all that labor to take it apart again in 10k miles.

Thanks Brad! Do you know which Bilsteins I should go with?

I'm also concerned about the ride quality as the current sport suspension has an amazing ride...not looking to sacrifice it for a lower stance.

i was looking at H&R springs too.
Is that for sure it will damage the stock shocks?

If you want to maintain somewhat close to sports suspension comfort, you might want to look into KW. But that will be lower than springs

+1 @yeuchau KW HAS is the way to go. Height adjustability and very close to stock sport suspension comfort. I should comment that I ran this on the RS5 not the C7 platform.

I had the Bilstein Sport shocks and H&R sport Springs on my Q5. +1 for the HAS Springs. Always regretted not going with those.

    My experience:

    H&R Springs + stock shocks = regret

I ended up swapping in Koni yellows. I wish I had done it together since labor for the install was the most expensive part. Twice.

What specifically is the KW? Are they adjustable? How much lower than springs?

Sorry for all of the questions...i'm a newbie on suspension options.

How was the ride after you put on the Koni yellows? Did you start with the stock sport suspension?

My experience with kw v2 was pretty bad for dd. If you want to maintain a nice and sporty ride I'll recommend kw street comfort http://www.kwsuspensions.net/kw/info...treet_comfort/

I am running 20x11 with 285 30 and dropped with H&R springs on sport suspension, you can check out my instagram for pics. I have had this setup for a while and it rides great. But I am looking at an airlift system soon.

Thanks for the feedback, lx. I'll take a look. You didn't upgrade the factory sport shocks? What year is your A7 and any rubbing?

Glad to hear the ride is good.

Thanks, Sport Line. I've heard great things about the KW setups. I have to stick with H&R and Bilstein because I want it all done at the same shop...long story.

I going to go with the Bilstein B8 shocks and H&R sport springs. I'll post some feedback in a couple weeks after I get back from a work trip. I'll be stoked to come home to a new setup!

Mine is a 2012 and you will be fine with a 35 offset, I am running a 30 offset, no rubbing and factory shocks. you might even want to run spacers to get a flush fitment, I actually have a 3mm spacer up front to clear the calipers.

is anyone running 20X10 ET25 on stock brakes and suspension on A7. I just tried to install and found that brake calipers are just rubbing enough to not let the wheel move.

Can you post a pic for ur setting with 3mm spacer, how flush the wheels look, do they stick out of fender?
