If you aren't aware the seat back blows out usually because the lumbar system bracket breaks and has nothing to push against so it breaks the tabs on the seat. This is what happened to mine, I've seen a few DIY fixes using aluminum brackets but I didn't feel like buying anything else and just used some 1/2 inch copper pipe I had laying around as a brace. I cut it to 11 inches and wedged it between the lumbar system bracket and the seat frame. It worked wonderful. Below is a step by step showing how to install the copper pipe as well as the Genuine Audi Seat Back Repair Kit.
First is how the seat back repair kit tabs install. They slide right into the broken plastic tabs with some force. I would recommend using a plastic pry tool, a block of wood or something that can allow you to apply even pressure without destroying your fingers. The metal tangs should be facing downward.

Next up is how I installed the copper pipe to brace the lumbar system bracket and keep it from blowing out the new seat repair tabs. You'll want the piece to be about 11 inches in length and wedge it between the bracket and the seat frame. There's little plastic flaps that I tucked it under to hold it in place as you'll see from the pic.

The seat repair kit includes some felt to go over the metal tabs on the seat frame, they install like so.

Now you are ready to put the seat back back on. You'll want to start at the bottom and slide the tangs over the tabs with felt on the seat frame. They are installed properly when you feel them bottom out.

Your seat back should look like this after.

Last step is to push the three top tabs into the seat frame. You may need to adjust them a bit to line up properly. Couple taps with your fist and they will pop right in and you're done!

Hope this helps with your broken seat backs!
