S4 Specific Service Manual

Hey all,

Did some Googling, and I found it's really hard to locate a service manual specific to the B8 S4. I'm only finding very old forum posts, but they all seem to reference the A4 and people say "Oh it's basically the same car".... Right...

I also found what appears to be a manual of some sort at alldatadiy.com, but they are pitching a subscription based service, which seems impressively stupid to me.

So, back to the question at hand; does anyone know where I can locate a service manual, specific to the B8 S4 (2012 if you have to specify), that isn't going to try to sell me a subscription?

There are two sites and you can buy a daily site pass for cheap and download everything you want in that day. I cant remember the sites off the top of my head though.

Alldatadiy is cheap and pretty good. You'll have to search to find what you're looking for I've found.

I've had my car a couple months and have removed the S/C and walnut blasted the intake valves, so worth the 40 bucks for 5 years.

Ford Perfect, kind of O/T but how did the process go? Is that a DIY type task? I'd be interested in doing the same as I just passed 100k miles and I'm sure the valves aren't pretty.

The hardest part of the whole thing was removing the supercharger belt, no kidding. But that's more to say I struggled with that more than everything is easy. You'll need a super long 16mm open end wrench unless your using service position. Even a pulley wrench won't work, there is that little room.

Valves went smoothly. Four sets where closed. To turn the motor I pulled on the SC belt for half an hour before posting *sigh* and being reminded to put the car and neutral and remove the spark plugs. Check out my post, pretty recent. Where in MA are you?

Not sure what’s so stupid about it. It’s a vey in-depth resource that’s like, $30/yr. it’s paid for itself many times over, for me at least.

There are 3 folders on the site. The "B8 Manuals" folder has an older manual that is a little funky. You'll need to download all the files to a folder, and run the HTML file to access the contents.

The ZIP file is a newer manual that seems better, but I haven't spent a lot of time going through it. If it asks for a password, try "notfromme".

There's also a copy of the study guide on the site which is a good read if you don't have it.

I downloaded all the documents on erwin yesterday and though they say A4, they are mostly for the S4.. I searched by VIN..

The engine manual says A4, but all pictures show the 3.0T
