    Question about TSW Bathurst wheels

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Has anybody tried the TSW Bathurst wheel in 20x10 et40 on an S7 or an S6? I know that it will work in basically every dimension except one; does it clear the brakes? The only real way of knowing is to find out from someone who has done it. Anyway, I want to fit these with Michelin PS4S 265/35R20 tires. Thanks.

This will clear the brakes on an S7. Keep in mind, S7 vs. S6 fitment varies slightly.

Cool, thanks! My main concern is with the offset of 40mm. I know most of the people running the 10-inch wide Bathursts on the S7 are running the 25mm offset. But there is no way that would work for an S6! I would definitely rub. Anyway, I think it's worth trying.

I have, thanks though, it's an invaluable tool. Between that calculator and case history from a couple of other C7 S6s I can say that the Bathursts will probably work. That is, if they clear the brakes. I hope so. It's a VERY good wheel for the price.

I have 21x10.5 on my S6 clears with no spacers, but I used the recommended offsets.

Maybe some other guys running 20" tsw Bathurst can chime in with what offset and tire size they went with and how it worked out

Another concern which hasn't been mentioned is clearance with the steering knuckle. These pics are of a TSW interlagos 19x9.5 with ET41.
You will ~.250 closer to the knuckle, but the extra .50 radius should save you as the clearance increases with larger diameter. I tried a Bathurst 19x9.5 ET39 and the spokes interfered with the caliper.
Moral of the story, test fit before mounting the tires.

The guy I got my wheels from was really knowledgeable about what would and wouldn't work on my car as he's fit many before and knew what worked. I'd check with him [email protected] @ Need4Speed as it looks like they carry the TSW's as well.

I have 20x9 et35 TSW Bathursts sitting in my garage and plan to put them on this spring. Initially I'm planning to mount the 255/35R20 OEM Pirelli tires but eventually I'd like to get 265/35R20 Michelins. I was leaning towards the PS4S but noticed that they only have a 95 load index vs 99 of the PSS or OEM Pirellis. Is it save to go with 95 on a heavy car like the S6?

Ya on an A7 I been debating whether to go with 20's or 21's ..... the 21's look clean but the sidewall is at 30 vs 35 and I wonder about the ride quality as well. On the 20's I have no idea what to get as far as tire size and offsets. Set on the the Bathursts though! ;-) ...... if anyone has any suggestions or input that would be great!

I ran the Continental SportContact ContiSilent tires in 275/30/21. The ContiSilent line has an extra insulation lining in the tire and found the ride pretty smooth and quiet. I had the Michelin PSS in 275/30/20 on my S5 and found them noisier.

Thanks for the info! Will definitely look into that tire as well ...... if I were to go with 20's .... anyone know what a good setup would be?

Agree with the contisilents, they reduce noise quite well but that's also because they have much less tread on the pavement than you would expect. ie., the tread is much more round in terms of a contact patch. The reason i noticed this is because my new pss have a much flatter profile for the contact patch and even though the new rubber is 295 which is only 2cm wider, they LOOK like a helluva lot wider due to the round contact patch of the conti's.

    PSS left, Conti's right.

I am thinking if I go with the 20x10.5 Bathursts and then 275/35/20 all the way around on the stock sport suspension it may work? What you all think? When you go 20x10.5 all the way around does it mess with the fuel economy or MMI drive settings?

I answered this question in another thread, but the short answer is yes. 95 gives you the ability to carry 6042lbs between the 4 tires. That's more than our car can weigh according to Audi. Our max gross vehicle weight should never exceed 5500lbs.

I tried Stance 20x10 et42 on my BiTdi and could not get them to fit despite being told 'oh yes they will fit.. no issues' Could not clear the brake calipers. It has the 356mm discs which are still smaller than the 400mm S6 ones but maybe the profile of the caliper was the issue.
Just check they fit and clear the brakes and dont protrude outside of the fender.

The center bore is larger than 66.56 therefore a centering ring can be used. It's very common.

When I bought my TSWs they came with the hub centric rings to match my car.

Thank you. I would think they would be made out of metal, not plastic. Any concerns because it's plastic?

Honestly IDK, I would probably prefer metal too. But plastic seems to be what everyone offers. I guess it's mostly to make sure the wheel gets located correctly during installation. After that the bolts are holding the wheel in place. Should be ok.
