Thanks guys. We've got a good discussion going here. This whole thing was just about making something unique and different. It does sound like it's more trouble than it's worth in the end. My budget is definitely not huge and it was just a way to spice up the B6 that I'm after. Most of my option have been Quattro autos so I wanted to cover those bases in case I had to leave it that way.
I agree it would be a super unique build if I could get it done. But you're right, customization and time really can add up quick and I don't know if I have the patience or the wallet to support all that at this point.
I'm glad I could come and put the feelers out about the idea and not be told I'm crazy...though the first person didn't heed my 5 cylinder needs and just told me to go 2.7 or vr6 without listening.
I do love the 2.7 in my B5 S4. A friend and I track that one and it's a lot of fun. I wouldn't be opposed to finding one of those if I can get one with low mileage.
My low boost comment was just a comment that the turbo would be merely adding some fund to the auditory experience as well as some power but I'm really never going to drag or track this thing so it's not necessary for me to be chucking 30psi in it just for the heck of it. Wanted an OEM plus type of feel and wake up the 2.5 a tad just for smiles and giggles, not tire munching, uncontrollable boost that is a pain to drive on the street, but something that could still impress every once in a while.
Anyway, thanks again. I'll keep you guys up to date if I decide to go through it. I hate to say I'm not the one to be the pioneer because I'd really like to be, just don't think the bank would be very happy with me, nor do I have the real time to dedicate to documenting all this for you guys, which would really be part of the reason I'm doing it in the first place.
I'll keep a 5 cylinder soundtrack in my head for inspiration...otherwise Biturbo it is.
