Have you every owned a SUV that can haul a 747 without missing a step? Or how about one with enough torque to pull a Chevy Duramax in a tug of war? No? Well, your opportunity is here.
Up for sale is my 2006 Volkswagen Touareg V10 TDI. V10? Yes, 10 cylinders of epic power are stuffed under the hood of this vehicle. Trust me when I say that this engine was shoehorned into the engine bay by the nuts over at Volkswagen all for the pure pleasure of knowing they could. And they didn't stop there. It also has a full OEM air ride system, adaptive torque distribution with center differential lock, four separate climate controls, heated seats, backup camera, nav, and all the other bells and whistles they could fit in this SUV. This is a beast of an SUV, and a rare one at that. The likelihood that you find another on the road in this condition is pretty low.

What does it need? Nothing really. There is a small exhaust leak at the very top of the system requiring a full engine and transmission drop, something that probably occurred when the turbos were replaced by the original owner at Ehrlich VW. Any other problem area has been addressed with OEM parts - there are no knockoff or aftermarket parts on this ride. And being a diesel, the engine and attached components are ready to go for more than a few hundred thousand miles with no issue. I would trust to drive this vehicle for another 10 years but it's time for another fun car.
Since I purchased the Touareg, it has been maintained solely at Berg Performance in Arvada, CO. Anything that has needed to be done has been completed. New tires last year, brakes this year, alignment, oil service, and the miscellaneous part replacements have been done in this one shop. Before me, it was a dealer serviced vehicle in Northern Colorado. Moreover, all the records I have will be included in the sale. I am the 2nd owner on this ride. It has been maintained by Berg Performance here in Colorado since day 1 of my ownership, one of the leading VW/Audi/Porsche shops in the region.
Work completed under my ownership:
- New drive shaft and center bearing (OEM)
- Keyless entry module repair
- New horns (there are 4)
- New EGR valve
- Brakes
- Alignments
- Oil service ever 4500 to 5500 miles
- 5000k headlights
- All bulbs swapped for new ones
- Anything it needed
Currently the vehicle is on Bridgestone DM-V2 Snow Tires (studless). The BBS wheel and tire combo in the two photos are not mine, but available from Emich Volkswagen for $1600 additional (my best friend is the manager there, and I was going to buy them). The specs are 18x8 5/130 ET50 BBS SRs on 255/55R18 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A K02s. TPMS sensors for Touareg included. If you want these, I would have them wrapped and delivered with the ride.
Extra parts included in purchase:
- RCA to headphone cable
- OEM iPod adapter I never had installed
- 2 sets of rubber OEM monster mats
- Rear WeatherTech cargo mat
- ProClip Cellphone dash mount (seen in 2nd photo)
The Touareg will receive full professional detail and oil service before the keys are handed over.
I feel the price is in a fair range for the quality, maintenance history, and rarity, but I am open to offers. No trades please.
