REVO Stage II Audi A4 2.0T Quattro 2012' tune questions

    Hi guys,

This may be a silly question.
I recently had a REVO Stage II tune.

Ive started to notice when i floor it, especially from a complete stop 1 - 2nd gear in Sport mode (DSG gearbox 7 speed) theres a delay between the shifts. As if its stalls for about 1 whole second and then engages again.

Not that ive owned a car with DSG car in the past, but my expectation was that it should engage really quick.

I heard that between gers on DSG cars, the timing is retarded... which causes that DSG 'Fart' sound.

can anyone shed some light here? im just wondering if theres anything wrong, if so... i may take it back to the tuner and ask his opinion.

    Cheers

Yeah the delay for 1 sec just seems a bit too long... it actually made me think for a split second ' eh what the?'... nothing like the explosive DSG fats and pop you see on s3, S4, Rs6 videos on youtube.

I may get them to check it out.

    Hi
    English is not my naitive.
    I have an B8 Quattro with S-tronic ( 7 speed DSG) from late 2010.
I have had revo stage 1 and stage 2 and now I'm at stage 3 (cts k04)
The DSG software that the car was delivered with shifted really strange especially the downshift, and it seemed that it didnt release the torque that the engine produced.
I think I have experienced the same thing it is as if the is no power in the end of the rews and it takes a litle for the DSG to change gear
There is an newer DSG software than the one car the car was delivered with(from Audi) it might solve it, but i took a different option.
I have upgraded to revo stage 1 DSG software and now the shifting points are spot on.
In D there is a litle lag in the throttle response but when I'm in S it respond instantly, the only down side is when you are in S and it it downs shifts it now rews the engine between gears, it is fun for a month but now it only annoys me.
but now the DSG release the torque that the engine produces, I dont think you can do that with standard DSG software

    Hey Testubes,

Not a problem, your English very understandable.

I wonder if APR tune is the same. Yeah this delay between the shifts in S.. ( I think theres even a delay in M/paddle shift) is annoying.

I chose the REVO tune as ive read some reviews between the two and most people claim to prefer to REVO due to it being more aggressive. I think Ill just have to ask my local tuner who uploaded the map, what he thinks.

since your mentioned Stage III... whats your feedback with it?

    Hi

Stage 3 is alot faster than stage 2, I had my stage 2 on a dyno. It seems to me that the DSG shifts at almost 7 k rpm and drops to approximately 5 k rpm in next gear and with stage 2 there is no torque in that range.
Stage 3 is worth every penny imho, the car is very responsive, same torque and HP in the lov revs as stage 2 but pulls hard when you floor it. I have the DSG fart between gear and it is addictive :)

If your car has the problem even in M then I think you should get some log files and bring them to your Revo dealer, but it could be your DSG software that needs upgrading either from Audi or Revo.

Woot a fellow Aussie on here. My understanding is that a TCU tune can help with the hesitation between shifts on the DSG and might be a consideration for you with this issue.
