    Brake and rotor replacement 2011 a6 3.0t

My brake warning light came on yesterday. I checked my brakes and they all seem to be worn about the same. How can I determine the size of my rotors? Other than OE, are there any recommendations to using the major auto parts stores to buy the replacement parts? Thanks.

Yeah, I recommend not going to chain stores. Audi requires Audi parts if your doing OE specs. The Japanese just don't do it right

I'd just get Zimmermann/Meyle/Brembo OE replacement rotors and akebono pads and call it good. Now, if you're looking for performance oriented stuff then Adams rotor seem to be the go to option around here.

I went with powerstop rotors and powerstop ceramic brakes. Great bang for dollar. You can get them from Amazon. FYI I have the sports package on my2010 A6 Prestige. The fronts rotors are 347mm and the rears are 321mm. Hope that helps.

All 3.0T's have 347 up front and 330's in the rear, irregardless of the S-Line package, etc.

I'm in the process of changing mine out. Here are the part numbers specific to my '09 3.0t avant. I'm sure your part numbers aren't far off. All the stuff was about $500 including a triple square bit set. Give Cascade/Bora parts a call. (503) 669-2277

Odd? My friend has the my2010 A6 premium and his rotors are 320mm all around. I wonder why I have 321mm rear rotors instead of the 330mm? Is it maybe just for the my2011 A6?

I dunno, but from the research I did online in the previous post, the vendor sites said that the smaller rotors were for the 3.2 and the larger ones were for the 3.0T and the 4.2. Maybe someone can clarify.

When I changed out my brakes and rotors the part numbers indicated front was 347mm and 321mm for the rear. Also on the rear there is maybe 2 to 3 mm gap between the caliper guide and rotor.

You are correct. The 3.0t and 4.2 cars use the larger Rotors than the 3.2.

Hey SinCityA6, so your rear rotors are 330mm?

    Been following this post....

1). What's an OEM BBK upgrade for these cars?
2). Hw many have used the Adams Rotors? I've used them for my other A4 OEM BBK setups, assuming the 345mm and the 347mm are basically the same right?

    this thread was perfectly timed.

did you notice if the rotors had a coating on them or are they good to go right out of the box?

321mm might be the oe size for the absolute base model. Is yours a S line or Sport pkg?

Mines the Sport Pkg. F 347 R 321. I was first confused when I was looking for new rotors for my car. When I entered my car specs it suggested F 347 R 347. But I could tell the r rotors where allot smaller then the fronts. But from the part number on the R rotor it matched 321.
