Brembo Ceramic Brake Pads - Rear Set - First Look

Managed to special order a set of Brembo ceramic brake pads from my local Autozone, cheaper than I could get them on Amazon or anywhere else. Aside from being disappointed to find out they are made in China , the overall presentation of the packaging and the look of the pads seem to be exceptional.

I unfortunately won't be able to install the pads for another few weeks to give feedback unless someone tells me I shouldn't.

The Brembo pads are Euro rated at FF compared to our factory pads at FE. Found this information here. Here are the pics:

Looking at it, you may find the new clips are not wide enough to get over the disks!

I found that when installing my new Brembo rear pads! I had to clean the old clips up and reuse them in the end.

Thanks for the heads up. Luckily I have a set of new Zimmermann rotors that I have yet to install so I will confirm tonight to see if the clips are wide enough or not. Just to be on the safe side, and being that they were so cheap, I ordered a new set of clips form Centric Brake Parts.

What has your experience been like with the Brembo Pads?

these are not compatible with the S4 brakes front & rear!
Have a look at the Compatible vehicles
P_85_098 & P_85_100 are compatible but are not Ceramic

Interestingly enough, I had to look up a 2015 Audi Q5 in the European catalog you linked to find the P85100 part number. The North American catalog seems to be wrong as shown in the picture below. Here's the link: http://brembo.mycarparts.net/

I am about 99% confident that the pads are the same, it's just the clips are different. The Audi A4 rear OE pad set part number is 8K0698451B and the S4 is 8K0698451D. When I pop those OE part numbers into the Brembo Euro web catalog, I do get Brembo part number P85100 for 8K0698451D and P85098 for 8K0698451B respectively. I look at the data specs for the pads themselves and everything appears to be identical with the exception for the clips. See the 2 screen shots below the American catalog screen shot.

Ended up changing my mind after sitting on them for about a week. Sold the pads. Decided to go with Zimmermann Sport drilled rotors and Hawk HPS 5.0 pads for the rear. I have been SUPER happy with the results. Went and did some canyon carving and they felt great and still show ZERO dust on my wheels. I've been using Armor All Wheel Protectant in the front to deal with the dust the factory pads create, but in the back, it's not needed. Literally no dust from the Hawk pads.

Here's my thread about the Hawk pads and the rotors: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...ght=zimmermann
