How do you program those three buttons for garage doors and gates?

    the manual says it all.

i dont remember but you need to press your garage door opener in front of the bumper near the sensor on passenger side and then hold down the visor button 10 seconds afterwards...

    something like that

    1. Turn the ignition on but do not start the car

    2. Hold down desired button on the visor until red LED blinks.

    3. Take your garage door opener and go to the passsenger side headlight. Point it at the transceiver just below the headlight(invisible) hold down the buttun and wait until the hazards blink 3 times...immediately release the button...yer done.

Just got my Avant a couple of days ago so read the manual and it's fresh in my mind..page 175 BTW.

    1. hold the two outside buttons until the light begins to blink slowly.
    2. push the button u want to program until it blinks slowly.
    3. go outside of the car and hold the button down on the remote in front of the right headlight until the flashers blink 3 times.
    4. Your done, unless you have rolling codes like me.
    5. Rolling codes = same as 1 and 2 then go and press the smart button on the garage motor and you should be done. Worked well for me and I love it, good luck

Well, either walk all the way out to your car and grab the owner's manual, or click on this link and go to the Audi section. Really easy to do.

more than likely you will need to hold the button until it starts blinking inside the car then go to the motor or antenna in the garage for the specific door and push that button instead of the remote that comes with it because of the rolling codes with the newer garage doors.
