Excelerate Performance is proud to announce our official launch as the Northeast Distributor for MSS Kits!

MSS KITS designs and brings to market a range of Premium Fully Adjustable Performance Spring kit products for prestige German
sports cars marketed under the MSS Spring Kits brand. MSS spring kits products replaces the factory (OE) parts yet retains the passive or
active dampers – such as the Audi MagneRide™, VW ACC/DCC™, BMW EDC™ or Porsche PASM/S™.

We are often asked why MSS products cost more than a set of one-time lowering springs from well established brands.
The simple answer here is that our products enable for enhanced ride comfort and performance handling for streets or track
use whilst retaining the factory shock absorbers. Bonus features are an easy cost effective upgrade path. It is important to
understand that these benefits are all often regarded as not possible from a single product let alone "just a set of springs".

From firsthand experience of the established brands products for the VW Golf MK7 R/GTi; Audi S3/RS3 have caused a
few rubbing, bottoming out, harsh ride issues that many of you can attest to I am sure. MSS has engineered these issues
out of the product with extended road tests (real roads; real every day use not computer aided simulations).
The upside for you so that, you get a 'fit & forget' product that works as intended. We back all that up with a Lifetime Warranty - no quibbles/no fuss

Just a simple plain replacement for new if our product fails

What kind of drop should I expect?

Audi Kits are naturally lower than the Golf/Gti/R so results will vary depending on car.
    - Standard kits see fixed 10mm drop in the front and rear is adjustable to 30mm below stock height
    - Fully Adjustable kits are adjustable from 10-30mm below stock height front and rear

Which kit suits you and your cars driving habits?

This Chart below is a solid reference guide to what is going to suit you and your driving style. Are you dissatisfied with the ride
quality of your car with the factory suspension? MSS Street or Sport spring kits are going to be an ideal choice for improved ride.
Utilizing revised coil bind diameter and spring height changes, MSS has covered grounds to allow the springs to carry a lower spring
rate than stock, while increasing handling and road stability by a significant amount. It must be magic!

    - Every day user, zero track days but want the car to handle better and be as comfortable as possible? - Streets rate is most suited to you.
    - Every day user, track days once in a blue moon or even frequent but also want the car to be more comfortable without lack
of performance? - Sports are for you! This is the do one, do all rate for 90% of drivers.
    - Still drive the car on the street but didn't mind a harsher ride quality? But at the same time want much better handling than stock,
increased ride comfort and want the car to be 100% confident on the street and on the track? Track or Track LS are for you.

This is a very interesting read from Audi Driver Magazine on MSS kits if you haven't seen it before. A little bit of background information on how MSS came about. This article really shows the true passion the team at MSS owns and feels it is their duty to make sure your car performs optimally while riding as well as it can.

You see that shock there? Right, it is factory. MSS Kits are designed to work with the existing hardware that your car came with. Why would they do this? Well, we are in a very technologically advance day in age and the factory suspensions are becoming better and better. There is always room for improvement though, hence why we are here today! Increasing ride quality and performance simultaneously is the main focus.

To view what we have for your car, click the image below. All complete units are in stock, we can also supply upgrade kits for those seeking more from their suspension.

My Personal recent experience with MSS track pack on DCC equipped Golf R.

I had the liberty to do some driving the other day in a 2016 Golf R. I took the car out for an hour with the stock suspension. I drove through city roads, back roads and did roughly 50 miles in high way driving to get a firm baseline before installing the MSS. I drove the car in all three levels... comfort, normal and race modes. I did this to get a good idea of how the car responded to bumps, turns, how it reacted at higher speeds such as on the highway... and of course to judge what the MSS kit could provide post installation. After we installed the track pack (fully adjustable) the difference was night and day different and noticeable immediately by pulling out of the parking lot. Starting in comfort mode and normal mod, I traveled enough mileage in both modes to notice they are both considerably more comfortable than stock. The bumps were much more forgiving, you didn't feel every little pebble either. The car didn't shimmy when driving on an overpass which some would consider to be instability. The car responded very well to all of these scenarios with the MSS kit.

The car now felt stable and confident. You can now use the steering wheel for what it was really intended to do, steer the car. The car feels alert and accepting to what is to come next, almost predictive it almost knows what you want it to do. The final test was to put it into race mode. The car turns into.... a race car... literally.. almost. The car felt neutral and flat while cornering, 100% of body roll is eliminated, delivers instant response to steering wheel input, virtually all dive and squat under hard braking/acceleration is gone. I would be confident that in race mode, you could talk almost any corner above 90mph with confidence and if the tires could support it. The car is entirely transformed in all modes of driving.

This car is lowered roughly 15mm from stock in front (will settle 10mm or so in front) and roughly 27mm in the rear. Nearly all the way down pre-settling. Ride quality difference with these kits is not going to be greatly noticeable from all the way up to all the way down. But I hope this helps complete the review.

Pictures. Front will settle roughly 10mm. Rear has some room to come down and come up, front has one turn left to go down. Should sit perfectly level after the 2,000 mile settling time.

    Stock Height - DCC Equipped

    MSS Track Pack

Also, for some further information, here is some info that was geared specifically to the GTI, so the numbers may not be identical to that of the A3/S3/RS3 kits, but the same theory applies to all kits.

Below is a response from William of MSS, a person who I speak to on a daily basis. There are more doubters in this world than believers and I will say this up front, I am not posting this information towards you, I simply want this information on the forums in general because a lot of people share the same concerns. I myself thought the DCC equipped Golf R rode very well stock, but I was able to nit pick many short comings myself, and I have ZERO track driving experience.

    QUESTION:
William, how can you claim to offer softer ride comfort and firmer handling than stock in a single package when these two sit opposite the 'norm' in terms of suspension setup. Worst of all, you claim you can achieve these with a stock damper that has no rebound or compression controls (low speed / high speed). Really?, can you explain in simple terms as I find your claims to be a little farfetched!

    RESPONSE:
Thanks for your question and we are not really re-defining suspension dynamics here - we are using a well understand principle that simply enables the effective management of load transfer. Doing so simply enables us to delay the onset of harshness hence the ride comfort in steady state.

A key point to note, we develop our solutions on vehicles that we have here on site and keep long term to be able to refine / troubleshoot issues. This is key for us to be able to deliver what we believe is a solution that is entirely different to what is available in the marketplace. One advantage by operating this way is that, we are able to react / act upon requests or mandated design changes through continual road testing - it is not uncommon to note that we are often later to market with a product...my View here is, I had rather spend another year or two testing than deliver to market an under developed solution.

    FRONT AXLE MSS KITS SETUP:
Our solution relies on the front axle using linear springs (single rate thus not progressive) so do not let our springs form factor distort the fact - we use linear springs on the fronts. The reason we do this is to promote steering feel and tests proves that we are right thus far sticking to this baseline design.

    REAR AXLE MSS KITS SETUP:
Our solution relies on the rear axle using stacked arrangement to gain the effective of a progressive spring (multiple rated in combination thus not linear) so do not let our springs form factor distort the fact - we use progressive springs on the rears. The reason we do this is to enable the shock absorbers to see less velocity in steady state...this Reduces their duty cycle and promotes ride comfort when the vehicle is not under load.

    Some simple numbers...
    - the number of various stock MK 7 R rear springs we have spring rate check are between 242Ibs to 250Ibs per square inch and that is what the rear OE shock absorbers have to manage 100% of the time...keep note of this info.

    - Our rear Sports Kit starts off at 155Ibs and under load sees MAX 210Ibs in steady state up to a given damper travel, typically up to three thirds (3/4) throttle when accelerating. Full throttle or when cornering at high speed the damper can see up to 2500Ibs (not a typo).

So let us recount here...our Sports Rear Kit solution rides on spring rates that states at 36% softer progressively down to 15% softer in steady state compared to OE and that is majority of the time hence the softer ride comfort. However, when the vehicle is under load our stiffer spring rates (at up to 2500Ibs) ensures the vehicle firms up appropriately to keep the rear axle flat thus stable especially when cornering. It really is that simple.

The above should give an idea how we manage - through extensive and continued road testing working with our partners - to enable the OE dampers to work more effectively.

We have applied our knowledge to aftermarket dampers (with rebound and compression controls) and the results are the same however the main difference with aftermarket dampers are that we are able to use higher spring rates...they tend to have higher valve rate for this exact reason.

Our solution is developed to work with OE dampers that have a strict set of parameters applied which cannot be changed. When we apply our solution to aftermarket dampers (that have additional controls for compression or rebound), the effects are the same however and off course with greater higher speed control and that would be the only reason why we may suggest using an aftermarket damper - especially for track use. The majority of the time where the vehicle is not a dedicated track vehicle, OE dampers are more than adequate for us to apply our knowledge.

This is some great feedback,I wanted to share from our thread on another forum.

I have the adjustable street kit, and it is perfect for a daily driven car, with some fun weekend bombing thrown in. I'm thinking I will likely upgrade to the sport springs at some point before long. I'll decide after an upcoming track day.
Thanks to the guys at NGP Racing, William at MSS, and Greg from Excelerate for helping me get it all sorted out.

We just fit a MK7 GTI with a fully adjustable sport kit recently. Turned out great. This client was so impressed with how the car handles the NYC roads he travels every day.

    Cheers!

We love that dedication! And Ill tell you what, that makes sense to me. I will hold off on this until the next major release. There are a few kits in the pipeline that aren't too far off in development. So we can either do a group buy or a pre-order. I will narrow down those details and see what we can come up with.

    Thanks!
