As I was driving to work today, CEL came on. Pulled code P0240. Car is a 2010 with 63k miles. Ran a quick search but couldn't find anything on the b8s using the mobile app. I'll do some more research tonight. Till then I'm leaning towards either 02 sensor or cat? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

Can you confirm the fault code number?
P0240 doesn't come up as a valid fault code for VW / Audi.

It's probably a p0420 code meaning cat efficiently below threshold. Could be bad o2 sensor or bad cat. Any mods done to the car?

My apologies, code is P0420. Took a closer look. Seems that one of my fuel injectors is leaking. I'm thinking that it was sending unburned fuel into the cylinder and down the system, and eventually burned the cat. Does that sound possible?

If the injector was leaking into the cylinder at all times (versus leaking on the outside of the engine), it is possible.
A emissions "sniffer" test would confirm to check for high NOx if the catalyst has failed.

Thanks for your feedback Erik. Much appreciated. Monday I'll find a local shop to run the emissions test and check the levels.
