Anyone have info on doing a rear OEM parking sensor retrofit?

Seems to be lots of information on aftermarket parking sensor retrofits (And even more mis-information) but haven't found much on retrofitting rear OEM parking sensors on a B7?

The previous owner of my car used the rear bumper as a parking sensor, had planned to have the bumper repainted but my body shop advised that the bumper had been dinged up so many times that it wasn't really worth spending the money to have it repaired and repainted.

I managed to find a rear bumper for a great deal that's in great shape but it is from a B7 S4 with parking sensors. I'd rather not have the parking sensor circles in the bumper as it's not as clean looking imho but I figure if I can retrofit the sensors, it may be worth settling for the aesthetic loss.

I originally (incorrectly) assumed that the sensor system would be linked in through the factory RNSe head unit/Can-bus/speakers however in doing more research, it appears as though the parking sensor system is nearly a stand-alone system? From what I have found, there are the four sensors, the harness, a control module and then a dedicated speaker for the proximity alert. Only question would be where the system draws its power from? Does it plug into a connector somewhere in the rear?

I'd appreciate it if anyone could shed more light on this. Has anyone attempted the retrofit? @Axis has mention of this in his retrofit thread but no further info.

    Thanks for any help!

The car should be prewired for sat radio. The parking module lives below the left cubby in the trunk so I think it's safe to assume you can get power from there.
    Kufatec sells a retrofit harnesses.

nnlugo did it iirc, you could use the kufatec loom if you dont feel like making one yourself. All youll probably need is the sensor connectors and module with pigtail. I assume from there all you have to do is connect the module to the can bus h/l, S12V, C12V and gnd.

I could look for the wiring diagram on Elsawin a bit later and put a screen caption here.

If you're able to track down the wiring diagram, I'd really appreciate it! And if I ever get around to doing the retrofit, I'll try to take pics for a DIY and you can add it to your retrofit thread! ;)
My plan would be to get the entire OE wiring harness for the parking sensor and then pigtail it if possible.

Do all B7's come prewired for Sat Radio? Mine didn't have Sat Radio/Nav as an original option. As mentioned above, hoping I can get a hold of the entire OEM wiring harness and modify it to tap into my existing system.

Just noticed you are in Canada. I'm not sure canadian cars were prewired. I know US cars are.

I'm looking to do this to my U.S. B7 Quattro S-Line but it doesn't have SAT NAV (no-screen).
Can I just buy a new symphony stock radio with SAT-NAV?
Does anyone foresee any issues with that?
I'm using GROM BT3 for bluetooth at the moment, do you know if the SAT NAV radio has bluetooth?

You’re looking to retrofit the parking sensors?

I have been looking into this more and best I can tell, all that is needed is the Kufatec harness, parking sensors, harness, module and buzzer. Sat-nav is irrelevant.

I did it on my B7 Avant. Front and back. Bought the sensors here: http://cobracartech.co.uk/6-parking-sensors-aids

Bought my car's paint in a spray can from local auto paint shop. Painted them myself.

Front and Rear bumpers have markings on the inside of the bumpers to tell you where to mount. I also bought the punch tool from Cobra as it made a very clean hole.
Front bumper, two of the marked holes would go through the grill which I didn't want, so I just measured carefully to put the two inner holes equal distant from the grill
Even purchased an oem audi parking sensor switch and wired it to activate the front sensors when needed. The sensors do get activated automatically when in the transmission is put in reverse.

Probably one of the mods that I'm most proud of diy, that and the rear camera, which was a PITA to wire since I have the avant hatch door

You can see the parking sensor paint is a little darker. I assume because the body paint is older and I didn’t blend

Very well done. I'm referring to an OEM sensor retrofit though.
