If they bring over either the Avant or the Sportback, I'll buy it. Infact, this is one I'd be willing to give up 3 pedals for (definitely won't for the new S4).

Have to have 4 doors. NOW GET IT HERE!

Out of my budget at the "moment". Actually possibly looking to move to a CPO B8.5 S4 or SQ5 from my B8 S5 this summer. Although I know I'll miss the V8 and sexy looks of my S5 with wheels/suspension combo on the coupe. Not so much of a "go really fast" guy much anymore.

    But in any event.......

Would have expected a bit more power ESP with rs3 saloon belting out 400bhp and will weight a bit less than an rs4/5. Should have gone hybrid

So we can almost guarantee no RS4 for America / Canada based off AofA decisions going back forever -> Avants who buys them? Enthusiasts? They aren't a big enough market...who buys RS products, btw AofA, oh enthusiasts.

Will be interesting with no A5/S5 Sportback in America / Canada (but Mexico of course...) if the RS5 Sportback makes it. I can see the RS5 Coupe definitely coming

The USA site has the 2018 S5/S5 Sportbacks shown in their "Future Models" section of their website, with some basic info on features. The gotland green and navarra blue are interesting ... but sure hope that touchpad screen is retractable.

Nope, it's fixed on the B9 platform. Never quite understood what difference retractable would make. How many actually retract their display while driving? If it just retracts while one is not in the car and is extended most of the time while driving, what's the point exactly? Doesn't make it anymore integrated and just adds an additional mechanism prone to failure. Judging from the Q8 concept, looks like Audi is going back to integrating the display into the dash. I suppose so it's easier to reach the planned touchscreen.

I have a '17 Q7 where the screen is in the middle of the dash, not fixed where they have traditionally been, I almost always have it retracted due to the placement of it. I can get to all my info through Virtual cockpit so there is almost no need for the screen. However where they are putting the fixed screens, I don't think it would bother me as much.

Yeah the Q7 is pretty bad and the display is also tiny for the size of the car. The A3 is also pretty bad IMHO. But having had a new A4 owner a few times I don't really see a problem with the B9 setup.

Its simple. Some folks don't like an ipad velcro'd to their dash at all times. Others don't mind it. If it was integrated everyone would be happy.

Read something somewhere about future regulations coming regarding rear backup cameras and how the screen has to be in a fixed position.

When I took my S4 for its regular service, I got an A3 loaner and I always drove with the screen retracted. It's really annoying and I don't like it

I dislike it, the Audi models should follow TTS or TTRS dash with virtual display, it's simple, clean and all the information is there. That's why you have virtual display, IMO, that tablet is hideous
