From memory.... the car is a premium with the sport package, driver assistance package, carbon fiber package, upgraded Bose package, and I think that's about it. May be a couple more small add-ons. It was owned by Audi before us, and used by a US Audi executive.
This May I got rid of my 2009 Subaru Spec.b with about 40k miles on it. She was built up to put about 350whp. She was my baby and was not daily driven. The car was very quick, and handled well. However, with all the mods, and that amount of power, I decided I would take the more practical route, especially as our family grows. So, we got rid of that, and I got a new Chevy truck (crew), which I love. At the same time, the wife got rid of her SUV (didn't need it with the truck), and got a Q50. The Q50 was a nice car, sporty, fairly quick, and had a nice exhaust note, however it lacked a ton of features my wife had grown accustomed to in her SUV, and it didn't fill my needs for something fun on the weekends. So.... it kinda left a void in our wants/needs.
I did a ton of research and found the S6. On paper it was the best option for us. So we planned on that for our next car in a couple years (pending a test drive to confirm my research). On an accidental spur of the moment, we test drove one. We instantly loved the car! Rest is history!
So... here we are! I have no plans to modify this car! After the Subaru, I vowed that my next car would perform the way I wanted it to, from the showroom floor.
There were other contenders out there, but once you factored in the need for all season performance, the Audi pulled to the lead. The other option was to wait for used AWD M5's to hit the market, but they would still be super pricey. Nothing really comes close to the performance at hand with the S6, taking into account cost, features, maintenance costs, and dependability. CPO warranty is pretty damn nice too!
So that's how we got here :)
I'll gladly take any advice or recommendations to happy Audi ownership. Currently looking at the Audi Care packages at the dealer. May just bite the bullet and buy it, to keep it Audi maintained. The local dealer is pretty decent, and only 10-15 minutes away. I figure for brakes, etc, I may utilize a local German car mechanic (has a good rep too), depending on the cost comparison. Or... just do them myself. I have a fairly well equipped garage from days of Subaru modifications! However, im trying to get away from that kind of stuff, to make more time for the important things in life :) I've already purchased a set of winter tires for the car (Conti's) which I'm currently running. This year, I will hunt for a second set of wheels to make the season tire swaps less invasive on the wheels. Probably looking at the 20" black optic wheels (or something comparable, as I like to run darker wheels in the winter months)
Anyways... that's it! Thanks in advance!
