Passenger Door and Rear Door won't lock or unlock

    Evening Everyone,

I recently purchased an 09 A4 and everything was working fine, except the driver door actuator which helped knock off $600. A few days later the car stopped chirping when locking and the passenger door and rear door will not lock or unlock with the fob, nor when I try using the key. The driver rear door locks and unlocks with the fob and key. I read it could be the vacuum pump or something but want more input. The alarm won't go off if the passenger side doors are opened when the alarm is armed, it will occasionally but it's only once in a while. Apologies for being a noob, first Audi ever and don't want it to be the last if I can't find a fix and have to replace 2 more door actuators. Thanks in Advance for the help !

Sounds to me like the microswitches in your door lock mechanisms failing. The older models are notorious for the solders breaking on them. There should be plenty of info on how to repair themselves on here. You'll have to disassemble quite a bit of the door to access them though. You can also just replace them instead of re-soldering. I had the exact same problem on my old Jetta and that was the problem. I'm not sure on the vacuum pump part of it.

Thanks ! I find it kind of odd that it was both doors at the same time though. If I manually lock the doors and then arm the alarm it chirps but otherwise still nothing

In my Jetta it would do the same thing. Also, the dome lights wouldn't come on with the door open. Basically the car doesn't know that the door is opened. Another thing it would do is if you unlocked the car and opened that door the alarm would re-arm itself after a little bit even with the door wide open.

I'm not sure on your particular car but do you have the screen that shows when doors are open? If so when either door is opened see if the screen shows them open.

All doors work saying they're open, so still possibly a fuse ?

I checked the fuses in the truck, not sure if there's any other fuses for the doors anywhere else. Might wait until I get my Vagcom cable Wednesday then see what codes come back

Subscribed to this. I pretty much have the exact same problem. My passenger door stopped locking, as well as the chirp, and the alarm light on the door would stay a solid red.
I also have a problem with my rear passenger door, where it won't open from the outside. I have to reach in and open the latch from the inside. Recently this exact same thing has been happening to my driver door intermittently.
So right now I have one normally functioning door, drivers side rear.

I ended up buying new actuators, the driver was is already replaced and fixed the issue. The others arrive tomorrow. I made another post about opening the actuator up and finding the source of my problem. However if your problem is intermittent it could be the battery hasn't been synced via Vag. I haven't tried that option yet but there's instructions on RossTech.
