    Shaking when idling and acceleration

So my car is shaking in park and it gets even worse when I accelerate. The check engine light is on and started blinking right before I turned off my engine. EPC light is also on.

So judging by search function results, it seems that there's a good chance it's misfiring. Any ideas what the culprit could be?

    Maybe coil packs?

Blinking check engine light is misfire in Audi world. I've read that 2.0T coil packs fail for no reason. If you have a code reader you can see which cylinder is misfiring. Swap coil packs and then check codes to see if misfire changes to different cylinder. If not, then check spark plug.

checking the codes is free at Autozone, Napa, etc.
Don't waste money until you confirm the problem, the data is there.

Just wondering, did any of these problems occur before the tune?

If so, you could probably have your tuning shop flash it back to stock, drive it around, if it still misfires, send it back to Audi for warranty service, then have the running shop flash back to the APR tune.
At least where I live, each subsequent flash would be $50 since you're already a customer
Of course you might want to call up your tuning shop regarding cost

Another option to keep in mind

I had a similar issue. I scanned it and cylinder 3 misfired. Replaced it and now only shook past 3 RPM. Rescanned and now cylinder 4 misfired.
I just bought a ignition coil pack and spark plug full service kit off ECS for like 120. Replaced everything (which is recommended when replacing them) and now its giving no issue.

My recommendation is to buy your own scanner for like 30 dollars (what I paid), its great to have, scan your car and see what code the car is showing. I can give you links to what I bought. But it does sound like a misfire if you wanna jump the gun get a local shop to scan it (should be free)and replace the one thats misfiring or all one time.

Just had similar issues after going APR Stage 1, though my misfires were exclusive to cylinder 3. It was the spark plugs.
I guess replacing them every 10k is a real thing. It's worth it.

Also worth it: a Bluetooth OBDII adapter and the torque app.

It's a $20 combo that lets you run all kinds of system checks and stream realtime data while you drive. I scan for fault codes everyday on both ends of my commute.

Thanks for all the help guys.

Unfortunately, it's a bit more complicated than spark plugs or coil packs from what the mechanic told me.

They found oil in cylinder 3, and cylinder 3 had no compression. Not exactly sure what the cause is, but they're thinking the engine will have to be replaced entirely. Thank god its still under warranty. Will post a more in-depth update tonight when I speak to my mechanic in person

Hopefully your APR Stage 1 didn't throw a TD1 flag on your car.....

I just had it removed so I can take it to the dealership. I was under the impression that it won't set off the TD1 flag if you flash back to stock 99% of the time. Is that off base?

So my shop said the piston(s) snapped and the cylinder wall is screwed as a result. Is this a common issue? Shop claims it happens all the time. I've been searching around but can't find much on it.

The piston snapped, like in half? Rods are thin and usually snap, pistons will make contact with valves, or ring lands will break and destroy cylinder walls....but a "piston snapped" doesn't make sense to me

Sorry, wrong terminology. What was told to me was that it "exploded". Apparently due to the ringlands breaking.
