    EPC light?

After 2 days of heavy snow & single degree temps, I turned my car on only to have my EPC light turn on. Throttle response was sloppy & so was power steering & braking. I was heading to the airport so ended up taking the wife's car instead.

Just got back & turned over with no problem & no light. Drove to get a tank of gas & everything seemed to be running smoothly.

Is it worth heading to the dealership to get it checked out? It seems as though others have experienced this intermittently & didn't experience any other issues. Car is still under warranty

    Thanks in advance!

This happened to my 2012 GTI all the time. The dealership was never able to figure it out. I personally think its a bad ground design that both Audi and VW share.

EPC is usually related to fuel delivery or misfires/coils/plugs. You'll have codes for sure and they'll tell you what caused it.

EPC is similar to a Check Engine Light in that many things can be the root cause. I had an EPC in May and December of this year, both times I turned car off and it went away. The most recent code was 0789, which I haven't researched yet. The reading I've seen on the subject suggest the most common problem to be a Oil pressure switch(s), but like mentioned in previous posts could be a many things.

The first time it happened in May i received various misfire codes. I just looked at 0789 and it states "Shift/Timing Solenoid Intermittent"

I will not due anything unless it happens more frequently

Water in/near plugs or intake. If it goes away after restarting, don't worry about it and carry on. I got an EPC light one time after using my foam cannon pressure washer setup for one of the first times. I always suspected it to be water in the intake, but it went away after restarting and never saw it again.

I just recently washed my engine bay and subsequently got misfires (on different banks after clearing first instance).. I covered my APR Open Air Intake cone filter but not the SAI filter.. Is it possible water got in there and down that tube and caused misfires..?

    TIA.
