    AWE Exhaust on A7 3.0T?

What are your thoughts on getting an AWE exhaust on the A7?

I have decided I won't swap my '16 A7 for an S or RS now. I'll wait a couple of years and pick up an '18 or '19. I hear good things are coming.

So in the mean time I'm thinking I might make the A7 a bit more interesting. I won't have any chrome on the car except the exhaust surround so not only will the AWE sound good it will look good with black tips.

Worth the expense or not really?

You may have different goals. I like cars that have some sound to them. The stock exhaust was too quiet for me. I went from the two outlet Prestige valance to the four outlet S7 valance with my AWE touring exhaust. It is fairly quiet when cruising and makes itself known when the pedal is down. I feel that it's worth the expense in my case.

Best thing is to find someone with the AWE exhaust and hear it both outside and inside the car.

As I've grown older, I've learned that pleasing everyone is impossible,
but pissing everyone off is a piece of cake

    AWE Exhaust on A7 3.0T?

They sound great. Get it with the resonated downpipes. When you're ready to jump to a new vehicle you won't have any problem selling it. Therefore it isn't a $2500 spend it is more like a $700 once you sell it.

What is the effect of the down pipes? Is it a mellower exhaust? I like mellow not loud.

I had the Touring Quad fitted to my (now gone) A7 3.0T.

Took about 1000 miles to settle down after fitting and was awesome. Like a pussy cat when around town, but capable of roaring when you put your foot down.

Go quad tip, and fit the S7 valance to enable the quad to fit. AWE do an all inclusive kit, including the valance.

If you want mellow, stick with the stock downpipes.

I originally installed the touring exhaust without the downpipes on my A7, but was getting a mild drone between 2-3k rpms. Ended up adding the downpipes and the drone is gone and it is not any louder than before. If you do the exhaust I would recommend doing the downpipes too.

Are the resonated downpipes still considered a catback system or do they go in front of the catalytic converter?

Are you getting some drone without the AWE downpipes or just too loud in general and you want to mellow it down?

I placed my order but decided to hold off on the downpipes. I'll add those later if not happy.
