Stupid question, but I wanted to confirm. I didn't know that our cars were flex fuel. I saw it on the original window sticker and on a sticker inside the gas cap. So are all b8.5 A4's E85 compatible stock??

I think it varies between regions. My Aus delivered B8.5 isn't flex fuel for example (I read that plastic intake manifold = no e85, whereas a metal one = flex fuel. Mine has plastic)

    E85

Mine is a Tip. Trying to understand why they would mark the sticker and the fuel door sticker that it accepts e85 if it doesn't...

    If it's a tip B8.5 then it's E85, yes.

you should have the aluminum intake manifold as well vs the plastic one if you are e85 compatible.

That's the thing. I have a wedding coming up and trying to buy a house in fall of next year... if funds allow for it over spring or summer I may. I don't want to TD1 either though, I only have 26k on my car with the 100k cpo warranty.

So I put 8 gallons of E54 in today. I don't know if it's like a placebo effect but it definitely feels like it runs smoother. Not faster but just smoother overall.

It is not. 6MT gets the CAEB motor, while 13+ autos get either CPMB or CPMA motors depending on year.

I have an early production 2013 allroad that has the metal intake and the extra injector. Mine IS NOT E85 compatible. If you don't have the stickers at your gas cap ---- be very careful. I even asked Audi directly about this.

Did you have the dealer run your vin? Mine's not marked on the gas cap either so I had two dealers run my vin to confirm I was flex fuel. Further confirmed when getting my APR tune since there are different tune versions available depending on the ECU. I'm under the impression that all US b8.5 Allroads are e85 capable.

Mine has the sticker as well. I'd call the dealer and see what they can find out.

Yeah, I was told that my car's gas tank was not compatible with E85. BS! If that were the case I'd have a problem with the E10 that the whole world is running on, now. Ran several tanks of E85 through my car this summer and it is AWESOME. Don't have any now as I have to run to Massachusetts to get it (no E85 sold in Maine, NH, or Vermont).

Can you get a reading through VCDS of Alcohol content, believe it is measuring block 043 on the engine:
    https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2015...8a7aeda644.jpg

Depending on who you talked to, the dealer and even AoA can be pretty clueless on some of this stuff.
Did they say what they were looking up using your VIN?

Metal manifold and extra injector are part and parcel with the CPMA/CPMB engine.
I guess it's plausible that some early cars with CPMA/CPMB engines did not have the full E85 kit.

There are a number of other part number differences for E85 compatibility, but the main difference is the existence of the ethanol sensor/sender (I listed for Allroad):
    http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...1#post10330691

    Also, for A4, example here:
    http://www.jimellisaudiparts.com/sho...oduct=11720548

As a side note, this site states that all fuel systems since 1995 are built to handle ethanol even E85:
    http://flexfuelus.com.s165617.gridse...ked-questions/

This company sells conversion kits that are only a sensor and ECU adjustment.

Yea this has been discussed like crazy in the APR e85 thread.... there are a ton of variables, not all b8.5s are e85 though
