    RS6 cold start issues

    Having a lot of cold start issues when it is very cold in the morning.

    Will have low/rough idle on start up and cannot rev motor. Does this until motor starts to warm up, then must turn off car and turn back on. Will return to normal idle, can rev and drive normally.

    This morning was a bit different in that the car started at low idle but lights began to dim/turn off until the car died. Points to alternator issue?
    I jumped the car. Battery voltage meter on jumper pack showed 12.5V and as the car idled longer it rose to 13.8V.
    At this point the car ran normally and I was able to drive to work.

    Ideas?
    01 Allroad Tiptronic, TCU tune, mild stg 3 (350 HP) tune (stock injectors) KraftwerkTurbo TM1. Lower, Wider. Custom tip vent pod with Podi
    02 Allroad 6 spd, Kraftwerk Turbo TM6, 750cc, 3" MAF, piggy, FMIC, CM stg 5 (hate). 30 psi at 3600 rpm. Needs stronger rods (coming).

    I guess a leak test ('smoker') is called for if the vac system is considered a potential culprit.
    I had the venture vac jet Y thing fail on other cars before. On the 2.7T and 1.8T I typically 'clean up' the evap/recirc monster and get rid of it.

    The RS6 does not have the vac Y in the most convenient spot...
