    Torn fuel line. Please help

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So the upper fuel line has a puncture and is dumping a lot of fuel since it's high pressure. I found out when I smelled the gas from inside the car.
Can anyone please tell me what the part number is for this hose?
Can I buy this hose from an auto parts store like autozone or something?
Has anyone changed this before? Can I do this with out dumping fuel all over the place while changing it?
    Thanks for your help

For a short term fix pick up a hose barb and two fuel line clamps. cut the hose at the pin hole and insert the barb. Clamp and done.

There is a part number on the fuel line. Record the number and punch it in to ECS, Europaparts, etc for a replacement.

    What old guy said.

Also, can you circle where the leak is? I bet it is from that broken hanger rubbing on the line. I would remove that hanger... just pulls right off.

That is correct Luxus Panzer. That's exactly where the hole is. Old guy. If you don't mind can you explain again what to do with the parts you mentioned.

Cut the fuel line in half where its leaking. Insert the hose barbs into both sides of the cut hose. Secure the barbs in place with the fuel line clamps.

    Torn fuel line. Please help

I would recommend replacing the line but the barb is a good temporary solution.I ran into a similar situation last year.Good thing the car was cold and kept cranking but didn't fire.I smelled fuel so I poped the hood and there it was in all its glory pissing like there was no tomorrow.Cant blame it original hose with 330k mikes on it lol.Anyways you can use the same clamps old guy listed and just buy some fuel hose.Make sure it's for fuel.Fuel hoses have a double wall and are made specifically for fuel also make sure the hose you'd get is rated for the fuel pressure. All of this info should be on your original fuel hose.I went this route cause the factory hose was close to $170.I got clamps and some fuel hose for $15 at a auto parts store.

Looks like 8E0201541J, which also appears to be NLA

Should be able to just replace it with the same size, not-moulded fuel hose

What you are wanting is FUEL INJECTION HOSE, not fuel hose. The regular fuel hose is for older vehicles with carbs. I used to work in parts stores.

Also, what the hell is that blue thing where the hole is?

Yeah, the reinforced stuff for injection. Carbs are getting pretty rare these days, so i didn't think to mention that.

that was the plastic holder for the hose but it's broken. Not sure why it has turned blue,

A place between here and there

You can pick up 5/16" hose from Autozone for like $1/ft (probably more expensive, but not far off from $1). They have a lot of things behind the counter, and fuel (injection) hose in various sizes are there too. You only need one foot, and that will probably be cut down. But get like 3-5 feet, and store the rest at your home. It comes in handy. Been running Autozone lines on my high flow rail for a couple years now. Then I used GEMI rolled edge worm clamps.

Thanks for all your help guys. Yeah that damn clip is was crumbled due to engine temps and old age. Then the sharp edge punctured the hose. I removed it now but only after it was too late.

    Torn fuel line. Please help

It's crazy I think I drove 3-4 miles before I noticed the smell. Must have dumped like 3 gallons all over the engine. Yes, I'm lucky.

Oh! I remember something like that when I first got mine. I think it broke pretty soon after I started playing in the engine bay.
