    Disabling Secondary Speed Warning?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hello, first time posting here in the B7 section, asking a question for a friend.

Anyways, my buddy with a bone stock 2006 A4 Quattro has two annoying speed warnings popup. The first being the one that is turned off using the check button behind the steering wheel, normally at very low speeds. The speed warning that we can not figure out how to disable is the secondary speed warning that kicks in about 74mph and constantly beeps. Searching has pointed me to VCDS / vagcom coding, but I can't find any information as to where in vcds I need to look. Other youtube videos show using the windshield wiper stock to navigate the menus and disable it, however this A4 does not have the DIS buttons on the windshield wiper stalk.

    Any ideas?

That's what I read as well, I'm a bit lost.

Even if the speed warning is disabled in the DIS, the beeping still starts around 74mph...

With the ignition turned off press the left hand button (as you look at it) in the instrument display briefly, the clock and mileage indicators should light up. Press the same button again and hold for 2 seconds, the speed 2 set speed appears in the display. Increase or decrease using the up and down buttons on the end of the right hand (wiper) stalk when you have the desired speed just leave it until the dash display goes out and it is set.

To disable speed 2 warning completely repeat the above but when the set speed apears in the display press and hold the reset button on the right hand stalk, the display should change to show the speed icon with a line through it, wait for the dash display to go out and its then set.

Found that in googling but idk. I've never seen 2 and have hit 120.. when I got the car I kept turning 1 on by accident..

Unfortunately the above did not work. When we press the left hand button in the instrument display, it only allows us to adjust the time. On top of that, this A4 does not have the buttons on the end of the wiper stalk.

I'd just google for the specific year, it did sound like lots of different directions for different cars. Some said it needed vag com others didn't. But if it's 74 it would definitely be annoying lol...

Did you try clearing it the same easy as the first one while it was going off?

I could be wrong, it the speed warning that you can set when your driving? The only why I could figure out to remove it is when driving press and hold the check button.

Definitely don't need VAG to do this lol. It's on the cluster/using one of the stalks. I did it on accident before driving my car home 800 miles at like 80 MPH, stupid thing would ding every time. Just gotta mess around with it, shouldn't be that hard.
