Best way to restore o rings?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I know O rings dry and harden over time and I was wondering if there is a product that can be applied/soaked to bring back some life to them?

I also know finding the correct o rings for TT225 injectors can be a pain so that is why I would like to re use these ones if possible.

I would just replace them. Don't know of any product to restore them. And when you find the correct O-rings save the part number for future reference.

Just get standard injector o-rings from any auto parts store. Order them for your car.

That's a pretty silly question haha you made me laugh...

I understand, but unfortunately the dealership is the cheapest place to get those tt225 o-Rings. You can find them on eBay will be the next cheapest place. I bought them over a year ago and that's the way it was then.

They are 3.53 x 7.52mm O-rings. Which is actually a (british) imperial size, BS 203

    Nominally 5/16 ID, 9/16 OD, 1/8 c/s

Found another forum post where guy says brake fluid restores O-rings. I don't see how.

    IDK.
But I have tried to maintain them with DC111. I think my stock injector O-rings came with something else. But otherwise I've used that.

Wonder if that's the same as 111, or if not, which is better for what.
The only reason I heard of 111 is because a Porsche guy said he uses it instead of Unisilikon TK 44 for brake caliper piston seals, since DC is significantly cheaper.
Then again, even if OEM costs more, it's never that much, and the price is worth it for the performance.

I used HondaBond HT instead of CV Joint Sealant, and it fell apart.

Are these specs for the intake or spray side of the injectors?

I came across a thread in my search a few days ago that said so, but I can not confirm.

    Anyone?

Einszett Gummi Pflege does wonders for rubber. Don't know how well it will restore but it does a hell of a job keeping rubber supple

    Great info, thanks.

so is the top and bottom o ring on a TT injector different sizes? if so...Do I keep these 2 different sizes when I install in a b6 A4 fuel rail?

    I found this info...

Top o rings are the same.

    OEM 1.8T injector lower 7.5mmx3.5mm
    OEM 1.8T 225 Injector Lower 9.3mmx2.6mm

    Lower-06A 906 149A (what lower, 1.8t or TT225?)
    Upper-035 906 149A (the same between 1.8t and tt225)

I think the 035 part is the normal one (for both sides of normal injector). TT must be different, if it is indeed different.

These are the stock O-rings. $5 each is insanity. 20 / $2.70 much more sane.

    https://www.motioncanada.ca/productD...p?sku=00619879

motion has locations all over canada, industrial supplier. Used to be called 'bearing and transmission', at least out here. But i'd think any industrial bearing / seal outfit local to you should be able to get you a '203' o-ring.

Youll have to cross that different size lower TT one and try and get it for reasonable price too.
