How to do the B5 Euro turn signal mod??

When the headlights are on the turn signals are not and only come on when you use them. I am curious if anyone knows how to complete this mod. Thanks in advance guys.

i think your referring to the "city light" function of the euro head lights. not sure if you could make it happen with the NA version but the "euro" lights have a small light inside the housing that comes on much like a day time running light.

No he's talking about having the amber side markers in the headlights only come on as turn signals not as "park lights"

The turn signal is a separate wire. Three wires going in to each sidemarker/turn signal bulb. One is ground, one is sifemarker+, the last is turn signal+. Cut the sidemarker+. Simple enough, but it should be noted that us dot laws require any vehicle to have those markers illuminated. You may get away with not having them, but you just might not.

There are bulbs (LEDs at least, with the bonus of less heat)) on the market that only turn amber when switched to. Other times solid illuminated, you can choose the color of light. Just learned about these last week, by one of my section members. And...just ordered because racekar

Or if you don't want to cut any wires just place a piece of electrical tape over one of the contact humps on the bulb, I forget which one you need to do, there are only two, but this will achieve the same thing and its easy to go back. I ran my lights like that for a few years and never had any issues with police but it is technically illegal.

I just cut the signal wire running to the corner bulb and ran it to my city lights. First click, city lights come on and no corner bulb. Turns work as they should. I had this done for quite a few years with no problems from law enforcement, but, i did put orange LED city light bulbs in.

so yeah? what i said. true euro mod requires city lights in order to be DOT legal. or some type of specialized bulb. didn't know we were just hacking hires to accomplish an unfinished look.

I did a search for the switch back on YouTube and it's really trick! Wasn't too happy with $15 ish a bulb though.

Question...616_S4 ... which ones did you go with? Did you have an issue with light code or anything like that?

they were $22 but i got them cheap for reviewing them.

had to buy a pack of resistors that wired into behind the headlight for $4

Instead of making a new post, I thought bumping this thread would be more efficient.

Does anyone know how to get the corner parking lights to constantly stay on. My driver corner parking light isn't illuminating unless I use the blinkers so it is basically working like the Euro turn signals. My passenger side works normally. Im trying to get them to work like US spec. I've removed the headlights and looked at the wiring and bulbs and it doesn't seem like anything was altered.

    Here's a link with an example: https://www.audizine.com/forum/showt...ty+wire+lights
Post 1) Picture 1 is what I'm trying to do but picture 2 is what my car currently looks like.

    TIA.

Replace the bulb... There's separate filaments in those bulbs.

I should've tried switching the bulb from side to side before posting this. Thanks again.
