I can only speak for the APR stage 3 with the TVS 1320. It's a great system, and seems to be rock solid. It has a very clean finished look. Almost looks factory. There is very little supercharger whine, depends on personal preference if that's good or bad. I've never had it dynoed so cant say for sure what the actual horsepower is, but I can say it's dramatic compared to stock. Gets good gas mileage, I average 24 on the highway. I live in Florida and have never had an issue with heat. Done track days and auto-crosses without a single hiccup. The stage 3 isn't sold anymore and they switched to a stage 3+ with a tvs 1740 making 589 HP and 540 ft-lbs vs 537/440. With the stage 3+ you have to change out the intake, because it can implode and also the fuel pumps. Factory fuel pumps, can't keep up. So you are looking at another $2500 for fuel pumps and intake over the price of the supercharger
Only issue I've seen with running a supercharger, and it's going to be the same with either supercharger, is getting the appropriate clutch. I've got the JHM R5 and it can handle any abuse you care to dish out to it, only down side is it is a bit of a pain to daily. I would think the R3 would be a better compromise between durability and drivability, and that is what I plan to go to next. Other option is the southbend stage 3 endurance. Haven't tried it, but I've heard good things.
APR isn't even showing the stage 3+ on their website anymore, so I'm not sure it is still available. If you can still get it, I feel like the APR unit is worth the price, and makes all the difference in the car. I'm sure the JHM unit is fantastic also. I would like to find someone with a JHM supercharger and run them back to back to compare the 2 systems.
